DP chip. Wasn't advised there could be issues if I chose not to upgrade exhaust straight away either. A big drive combined with towing, big hills and a hot motor and BAM! Have also been advised to have an Exhaust manifold pyrometer installed. Put it down to experience I guess

Chips are no good for humans.

Chips are no good for engines.

Nothing wrong with bombs if you handle them with the respect that they require.

Exactly, but with this bomb, I'm messing with it a bit, it's really mistreated. See what happens.

Ok So my mate got his car back..

To give you guys a bit of history, the car has always had synthetic oil put in it from new, however the last service (about 5000ks ago) they put in normal mineral oil.

Toyota checked injectors and ran some tests and found everything to be ok.
They flushed out the mineral oil and filled it up with synthetic and the rattle is less noticeable.

Interesting, might be worth asking for the actual injector feedback results anyway...

Don't DP chip claim they will talk to Toyota in the event that there are engine related warranty arguments?

Just thought I read that somewhere on their site when I wax thinking about getting one.

Does anyone have a reputable suggestion where in Sydney I can get the injectors tested/checked? Preferably on the Northern Beaches (or Botany area).

                          Thanks

Have a look at the web site for Bailey Diesel Group - they seem to be the Australian guru's on all things diesel - CRD in particular. They do after market injectors rebuilt and blue printed. There is a lot of good info on their site, which I have found very helpful in understanding Prado fuel systems.
