To give you guys a bit of history, the car has always had synthetic oil put in it from new, however the last service (about 5000ks ago) they put in normal mineral oil.
Toyota checked injectors and ran some tests and found everything to be ok.
They flushed out the mineral oil and filled it up with synthetic and the rattle is less noticeable.

Does anyone have a reputable suggestion where in Sydney I can get the injectors tested/checked? Preferably on the Northern Beaches (or Botany area).

Have a look at the web site for Bailey Diesel Group - they seem to be the Australian guru's on all things diesel - CRD in particular. They do after market injectors rebuilt and blue printed. There is a lot of good info on their site, which I have found very helpful in understanding Prado fuel systems.
