  • 2.8 Fuel gauge question

    Hi,
I have a new 2.8L GXL and was told by a sales person that the main fuel tank would run from full to half then the needle will jump back up to full and go down to empty and thats the second tank.
    Is this the case?
Only reason I'm asking is i was told they would be giving it to me with both tanks full and the needle has just dropped below half without going back up to full.
So basically wondering if the deanship has done the dodgy and only filled up one tanks worth.

    Thanks,

On my 120 it drops a little way below half before it goes back up.

What was explained to you does not seem correct.
even though there are 2 tanks the gauge reads it as 1 tank as the both empty together.

if it says half on the gauge then you only have around 75 L in total

this is how it works in the 150

          Agree with Fred,
I have the new 150 GXL too Parmo, and have filled it 3 or 4 times so far (done over 5000 kms) and the only thing i have noticed is that it stays around the 1/4 full mark for a little more.
But it is treated as one big tank, that flows from one to the other
