  • Injector feedback.

    Good evening,

I had my 20k service today and, at the recommendation of many on this site, I asked for an injector feedback report. Now I cant be positive that the engine was cold, however it was dropped off this morning at 8 and they didn't work on it till about 2.

    Report showed
    1: 0.4
    2: 0.4
    3: 1.3
    4: 1.2

I understand the acceptable limit is +\- 3 but I didn't think numbers 3 or 4 would be so high after 20k. Is this something I should be concerned about? What do those numbers actually indicate? I'm still learning about crd.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

That's not uncommon. Don't worry just keep the diagnostics up. Every 10,000k.
Perhaps others can use this thread to ask similar questions.

    Cheers,

Just had mine checked all were under 1. 90k on the clock. Happy with that. They also checked with engine near cold as well as warm. Not a cold start test but at least it seems my dealer is getting the right idea.

Thanks for the offer ####. It would be good if there was a whole section of the Forum dedicated to electronic diagnostics to pull this all together but that is another story. I would like to be able to check the injector values myself but a little uncertain about what to get. Is techstreem the only way to go. Is something like this http://www.emanualonline.com/Diagnos...P8gRoCTjzw_wcB Suitable? What have people got and where did you get it from

          Hi Mule

Get the techstream disk and cable off ebay, the win 7 compateable vesion and you will never look back.
I followed the TXT file instruction on the disk and had it up and running in no time.

              Hi,
I would like to get a Techstream. I have a 2011 MacBook Pro laptop running the latest 'El Capitan'.
I have read people are using Tecstream on a windows based laptop. Is it possible to get a Mac version and if so is it OK ?
              thanks

                Great! Also the total volume?

Hi Bluedog. If you want to use your Mac then you can install a copy of Windows using the Bootcamp assistant found in Utilities. I have kept my old macbook just to run a couple of windows only things and that has been about once per year. Plan on using it for Techstream once I get a copy.

I see you can buy Techstream cabling and software in Oz for $119. I see on eBay that you can get the cabling for about $20+ with software from China.

What are the issues with choosing this option?

So I bought tech stream so I can monitor my injector values, I can see myself looking at them every day now .

Anyway hooked it all up this morning and got the following when cold,

                          #1 - 0.0
                          #2 - 0.3
                          #3 - 2.5
                          #4 - -2.5

It settled down to less than ones after 5 minutes or so. Is this cause for alarm? They are only 6 months old with 21k on the clock.

3 and 4 are up near the limit. I'd check them again I got completely different readings on a few occasions.

The problem with too much information I feel like sometimes it's better just not knowing.
