It would be good if the dash lit up when in burn mode as you could drive at higher rpm

Well I just got back from a 500km trip made good note to hold high rpm up long hill stretches and drove with no economy in mind and it actually returned great fuel economy at 10.3lts per 100.
After our first long trip we got a higher return and I was super attentive to economy trying hard to keep off the gas st all cost and ended up at 10.7lts per 100Last edited by Phs; 05-12-2016, 01:18 PM.

There are companies that can rejuvenate your DPF like this one http://www.dpfcleaning.com.au/Originally posted by yowie View PostI think they are down a bit where the heat generated will cook any grass to the point of burning.
With my new 200, I was advised (also in the manual) to keep away from any grass or inflammable material during a 'burn' sequence.
2 of the DPF bastards on the 200. Supposed to last 150k (then out of warranty period) over $2,000- each to replace when stuffed. Will need to find 'fix' before that time.2010 150 Glacier White GXL D4D Auto

Thanks Riv, did not know they were doing this. Used to visit this company many years ago, when I had the 80 series Cruiser. They would clean the air filter for $12, when Toyota wanted $50 for a new one, so I kept the old filters and had them cleaned, giving me a spare that I could swap at any time with a dusty one.Originally posted by Riv39 View PostThere are companies that can rejuvenate your DPF like this one http://www.dpfcleaning.com.au/

Nope, not if you want your car to be legal & roadworthy. There are DPF delete pipes for heaps of vehicles equipped with these, but they are for "offroad use only". People are going to have to learn to live with them, because all diesels will have them eventually. I'm not a fan.Originally posted by hergy View PostAny way to get rid of this DPF shit?

Hopefully not ....Ad-Blue(Diesel Exhaust Fluid)) is certainly looking like a better way to go My daily drive ( Western Star truck) has a Cummins Euro5 engine which uses Ad-Blue and runs much cooler, producing better power than the one I previously drove which had a DPF (also a Cummins with same HP and Torque rating)Originally posted by Falco80 View PostPeople are going to have to learn to live with them, because all diesels will have them eventually. It would have both ad blue and a DPF. Extra power may be due to no EGR but is probably just tuning improvements.Originally posted by diesel69 View PostHopefully not ....Ad-Blue(Diesel Exhaust Fluid)) is certainly looking like a better way to go My daily drive ( Western Star truck) has a Cummins Euro5 engine which uses Ad-Blue and runs much cooler, producing better power than the one I previously drove which had a DPF (also a Cummins with same HP and Torque rating)Last edited by Brodad; 14-12-2016, 08:59 PM.

AdBlue® is used to reduce NOx emissions in vehicles equipped with SCR not DPF (diesel particulate). I believe Euro 6 requires SCR and DPF combined. So Adblue would mean no EGR meaning engine would breath better.Originally posted by diesel69 View PostHopefully not ....Ad-Blue(Diesel Exhaust Fluid)) is certainly looking like a better way to go My daily drive ( Western Star truck) has a Cummins Euro5 engine which uses Ad-Blue and runs much cooler, producing better power than the one I previously drove which had a DPF (also a Cummins with same HP and Torque rating)2018 150 Series Crystal Pearl Prado VX 2.8l. 2 inch King springs and Bilstein shocks, Airtek TJM snorkel.

I think you will find the Euro 6 version of the GD2.8 is fitted with EGR, SCR and DPF,
The unit is equipped with a water-cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system with an EGR cooler bypass function, and also benefits from a swirl control valve in the intake manifold. The adjacent positioning of the catalyst combines cleaner performance with a reduction in size of some 30% and a reduction in the number of exhaust system components from 18 to three. The elimination of up to 99% of NOx emissions through use of Toyota’s urea Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system ensures the 2.8l D-4D Land Cruiser complies with Euro 6 regulations.

True, we get the Euro 5 version without SCR in Oz though.Originally posted by Mick2211 View PostI think you will find the Euro 6 version of the GD2.8 is fitted with EGR, SCR and DPF,

Yep Euro 5 at the moment, I was replying to this one, I should have added the quote in the first post.Originally posted by cuda View PostAdBlue® is used to reduce NOx emissions in vehicles equipped with SCR not DPF (diesel particulate). Got my car serviced today at a Toyota dealership and asked if they could check the dpf and provide a printout of burns etc. They told me that there computer doesn't have the capabilities to check the dpf. Just rung Toyota aus to check what dealers do have the capabilities. Pretty pathetic to sell a car with something that dealers can't check.

Sounds a little like B.S to me. The service guy was looking at the state of my DPF when he had the Techstream hooked up.Originally posted by JohnC80 View PostGot my car serviced today at a Toyota dealership and asked if they could check the dpf and provide a printout of burns etc. They told me that there computer doesn't have the capabilities to check the dpf.
