Petrol in the diesel...

Don't ask how.

But here is what happened to a 2015 2.8 with 35,000k on the clock. 10 litres of petrol in the empty tank first, then 67 litres diesel. Driven 2km then had tank emptied and refilled with diesel.

Runs fine now. Question is how much damage, if any, to the fuel pump, injectors, other?

Our experience with a Mazda CX-5 diesel, daughter topped up tank with approx 25 lt of petrol so roughly 45% mix. Proceeded to drive when light came on within 2 km. Car was shut down and towed to Diesel Mechanic. Drain tanks, flushed fuel lines etc and car was back on the road. That was 40000km ago and the car has not missed a beat with 150km now. That was a Mazda Diesel so different injectors, being a Toyota with crappy injectors to start with who knows but I think you also dodged a bullet.

All you can do is wait and see. Older diesels are definitely more tolerant to petrol but there is a limit. I have seen a diesel VW transporter completely f#$ked with petrol in the tank but that was a rental and it probably was 10:1 petrol diesel.

Could well be ok but my crystal ball is a bit foggy at the moment..

Ahhh well I'll just drive it then. 18 months to go on the lease
