Just wondering about this "Re-Flash" of the software.... By doing this, are Toyota just re-using the old 120's Auto software settings or is it something completely new ??
It seems this re-flash will give u worst economy afterwards but by how much I suppose will depend on people's driving style..... but I hope it's not by two much as we already are only getting around 11ltrs/100ks on avg around town..... Our's is booked in for mid December to get done.....
Reckon it's completely new Rob as my understanding is that the engine is different to the 120 D4D. Expect about 1-1.5l/100km worse arround town depending on your drive style. My computer says we are getting about 11.2 to 11.6 where before it was 1ltr less than this. I stand by my earlier comment about using S mode, I reckon it saves you about 0.5ltr around town.
I spoke to my dealer about this and they are going to lodge a report on my findings back to Toyota Aus including the fact that is holds 4th to long as it won't shift up to 5th until 60km/hr no matter S or D mode. In fact whilst in D it holds it even longer under hard acceleration (a lot more than previously experienced that is).
Don't get me wrong, compared to the hesitation and lugging problems it is much better and far more responsive. It just needs a few tweaks to get it perfect.
Hi, I have repeatedly asked my dealer for a fix for the hesitation and they deny knowing of a fix and don't beleive me that there is a problem.
Just had 40k service. So can someone please send me the TSB number?
Print these pages up and take with you to toyota, highlight the major issues refering to the flatspot on each page, then shove it on the customer desk in front of them, I did that with the recall of the bullbar about damage been done to customers prados and what would happen if they damaged my car...............Cheers steve

Sorry to be a pain but I would love the TSB as well. It will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Could I also have the TSB please. I took mine in and specifically asked for the hesitation fix. Whatever they applied failed to fix it, so fugure that I need to be more specific...
Quite funny really. It was first requested back in post #108 and it's been asked for almost every post after that, not to mention the PMs that must have been sent. Makes for scintillating reading...
Had 40k service a week ago and asked for the software upgrade. So far no flat spot and much nicer drive. Fuel consumption is the same so far.
Also dealer asked for car overnight so happy they seemed to be doing the right thing as far as having motor cold to do the adjustments.

I have had my 150 for 12 months and have asked the dealer about the flat spot constantly but they have denied any problem. Toyota service have also denied any issue. What is worse, is that you have to ask for the fix. Other vehicles I have owned have had the upgrades done while being serviced. Now that I have had the flat spot fixed and paid for a Safari snorkel to get rid of the 1500 RPM vibration, I am still missing my Mini Moke. It's transmission never overheated or klunked.
If this mob want to sell cars in Aus, they should look up the word service.
I had mine "re-programmed" as they called it at my last service in December. Thanks to Riv for the TSB as otherwise I had blank stares from the service chap. The car is much more responsive and my fuel use around town seems to be the same but .....my wife took it from Sydney down to the Southern Highlands 2 weekends in a row and came back with 7.2l/100km showing on both occasions. I have no friggin' idea how she did that!!!
