3rd Fuel Filter (to the 5th injector on 1GD)

Just discovered a hitherto unknown fuel filter (part no. 23390-11230) on the 1GD engine called "Element Assy, Fuel Filter No. 2".
It's on the fuel line to the 5th injector.
The replacement of this is not identified in any scheduled book maintenance.
Has anyone any experience or more information on this?

That Hilux had done 230K Kms on the original filter.
The 5th injector only operates for about 20minutes around every 200-250Kms. Thats some 30-40 days of 8hr driving.

My 2018 GXL is at 205K Kms and I'm having it replaced. I'll get a report on the state of the filter from the workshop, standby.

According to the description in this link its called the pressurized fuel filter and the info on purpose includes "The pressurized fuel filter can be installed to provide additional protection of pump, rail and injectors". Hard to make out in the fuel flow diagram part way down if its before the 5th injector feed or after as it has return fuel and feed pressures going in and out of the filter housing.

The Repair Manual I have access to has it listed as the Fuel Filter (for Cylinder Block Side) and blockages/restricted flow through the filter most likely will trigger a P00BB - Insufficient flow through the injector - forced power limitation DTC.

The 5th injector theory might be a furphy.
Just got feedback from my Dealer. Its never replaced unless the fuel pump fails.
They say the filter is only inplace to prevent metal particles passing into the injectors in the event of the fuel pump failing.
I've cancelled the task - its a rigmarol to replace and the effort costs nearly $900.
I'll keep the spare filter ($180) and do it myself - in the fullness of time.

Seems to only be on DPF models which have a two stage fuel pump design with the lower pressure feed pump first stage outputting to the 5th injector and pressurized fuel filter. From the Dealers comments that part of the pump must be more prone to failures that create metal particles that would damage the high pressure components (high pressure second stage of pump, rail and main injectors).
