3 beeps on cold start

I have a minor but annoying issue with my 2010 D4D GXL Prado. When I start the car when it is cold and wet or damp I get this series of 3 beeps that continues for about 30 seconds. The tone of the beep is similar to that of the front parking sensors (which were fitted by Toyota at time of purchase) but the parking sensors are working fine and have been tested by Toyota.

It only happens first thing in the morning or when it has been parked for an extended time (over about 7 hours) and also below about 7 degries C. Toyota has looked into it several times, but we can not replicate it whilst at Toyota. I have left it overnight at Toyota but that night was not cold enough to cause the beeps.

Just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem?

Get a video camera and record it. Then show the dealer/service dept.

Toyota believe me, but they just can't identify the cause. Just hoping that someone else has experienced the same.

Sounds really weird mate. I'd be interested to see what the problem is too. I'm sure you wont have any problems replicating the problem if it's cold that's what you need. It's been very chilly in the mornings here in Victoria. Can't say I've had any problems like that in the mornings (I leave at 7am when its 6-8C).

Started mine on the weekend when it was 3C and no probs. Sounds very odd, I assume yuou checked the manual to see if it has an explanation?

I had almost the same thing happen to me but mine was 2 consecutive beeps which sounded about 5 times and then stopped. The temp outside was 6 degrees. Could find nothing in the manual.

I am chasing up Toyota as I have locked it down to the front parking sensors. I want to find out who makes them so I can contact them direct and find out what the error codes are.
