Go with Amy, they might cost you that extra $100 a year, but it's worth every cent... you get to speak with real people, and not robots and they break their back to help you!

AAMI - $466 with $500 excess. That is a quote for a brand new 150 GXL TD, cover for $64k agreed value but replacement vehicle if written off in first two years. I spoke with a guy there and he said legal public roads, tracks etc covered. I specifically mentioned Cape York, Simpson Desseret and Fraser Island and he said yes. Exceptions were race tracks, proving grounds (including 4wd parks). Apart from that, the usual not breaking law type stuff

I was with AAMI but they do not have it in print, only verbal that I was covered off road. My new policy with Allianz through DGA says you are covered anywhere in Australia there are no exclusions. $965.92 per year with all extras covered, camping gear also.

i to have one on order. i currently have a 04 grande and have been quoted pretty much the same for a 2011 kakadu!. approx $1400/year through AAMI. that includes a rating 1 for life with all the little extra options (windscreen/car hire etc) with an excess of $550. they have been pretty good in the past and will more then likely stick with them on my next one.

I paid $430 per year for the first year and then this year I paid $520 to cover the Prado and Camper Trailer through RACQ, I was perviously with Suncorp for last 19 years but their premiums for everything have gotten ridiculous, our house and contents went from $1200 to $2600 in 12 months so I switched everything over to RACQ.

RMB Hi all, great info, just checked AAMI on line for VX, Crystal Pearl, 2011 build added a few extras, (55yo driver), have other vehicle policies with them and they came back with $957.35, add $23 for yrly windscreen, rating cover 1, excess $400, Comprehensive Ins, agreed value $85000.

Will try a couple of others - SGIO looks reasonable.. Insurance companies unfortunately to me are like second hand car dealers, they always have something up their sleeves .. don't always tell you about the hidden clauses...etc etc

Interested if anyone has someting to say about any claims they have had to submit...?

ring AAMI, they're always good for another 20% if you push them... They's customer service is second to none...

There you go I sound like an AAMI rep now...

I swear I have no affiliation with them, just very happy customer!
