    I've noticed reference to

    ECU Reflash/Upgrade

in other topics and I couldn't find a thread related specifically to it.
To save going off-topic elsewhere, can those affected explain what brought on the 'reflash' and what adverse affects are caused?

The only reflash I know of relates to the Transmission, I've had mine done due to a hesitation when accelerating at certain speeds. The tranny takes awhile to drop back a gear before it gets going.

I think you will find what you are looking for here, cut and paste or go to diesel engine and follow your nose.

I will be ready for the 30,000 service shortly and I am hoping to have it done, I am used to it and never drive under 80kmh in Auto unless I am coasting up to an intersection. This is the first auto vehicle I have owned or driven that needs to be driven in manual mode to be smooth and without the hesitation. You would definetly expect better from a vehicle the price of these.

Hey, thanks Barajack, that looks like the one. It would appear Toyota has done this to achieve the better fuel economy.
I'm surprised how frugal this thing is. I agree with your last comment. The gearbox and cruise control machinations are probably the worst I've ever experienced though.
