    • I have spotted two brand new Altitude 150's this morning in Caloundra Qld, one rego'd "1 LEE" and the other "011SAJ". Don't know if they belong to any members here though.

Both Diesels I think and sporting the Crystal Pearl Duco.

      • If anyone is chasing a new Altitude in Crystal Pearl there is both Diesel and Petrol versions on the floor at my local dealer at the moment ready to be bought.

Thought this might save someone the pain of waiting for a new build etc

Dealer is Sunshine Toyota, Currimundi Qld (07)54933900

          • Hey Bigben10 you will love it. We had a protection pack applied this week (Leather, paint, carpet, window tinting and CAT Electronic Rust Control system installed) pretty happy with the finish of the car now with the paint protection on, it looks a little deeper in colour. An interesting note the company that did the tinting throught it was a KAKADU when we picked it up.

Even had the moonroof tinted to match the driver side windows as an additional (overkill) in case the factory build was not the same standard as the window tinting with heat etc filtering.

The CAT Electronic Rust system fitted in neatly with the pads on either side of the engine bay. It was also nice to see they have the positive wire to the battery run through a water tight fuse.

            • Hey folks are you aware that Privacy Glass doesnt stop UV radiation? If you go to a knowledgable tinter they'll tell you that you need a clear put on the privacy glass to stop the UV.

See ya on the tracks, Richo.

Just be careful I sold aftermarket goodies for many years in the car industries and we never tinted sunroofs after one exploded from getting too hot in summer. The tint trapped the heat in the glass and it literally exploded causing the tint manufactures to put out a nation wide notice. It was ten years ago but look into it to make sure it's safe to do.

I was under the impression that glass stops UV. It's the IR that passes through glass which heats up the car.

                        • G'day naenae. Off Topic...When you get a chance, update your profile with your location so other members can see what part of the world you reside. I notice that you most likely live on the southside of Brisbane from the visit to Tintmart Browns Plains store. (I'm in Calamvale so I'll keep an eye out for ya!)

                          • Ops never thought of that, yes we are from the Browns Plains area (Southern part of Brisbane for those not in SEQ).

We have been thinking of a prado owners get together as such so might throw a new topic in.

                              • In regards to the tinting. How did everyone get around the problem of the front windows (having a UV tint) being a little on the green side. My tinter put on 20% film and there was a green tint showing, he then went to apply 15% which helped take out the green tint but the front is a little darker than the rest of the car. What % did everyone else use for the front?
