Called into Western Toyota at Guildford in Sydney earlier this afternoon to look at an Altitude model Prado. Helpful sales guy came out to see if I required assistance. The only 150 on the lot was a GXL. Explained I was looking for the Altitude and he mentioned they had several in stock. Beauty let me see one. Sorry they won't be on the lot for "a couple of weeks". When the GXL sells we will bring one out. Can't take you out the back either where they are stored. Only the mechanics are allowed in the stock area. Cough bullshit cough, thanks I will go to another dealership.

Interesting that they did that for you. All the tinting companies I have spoke to are refusing to tint the sunroof due issues with it cracking due to extra heat.Originally posted by naenae View PostEven had the moonroof tinted to match the driver side windows as an additional (overkill) in case the factory build was not the same standard as the window tinting with heat etc filtering.
If you look at the glass you will see that the front has UV written on where as the rear doesn't.Originally posted by amts View PostI was under the impression that glass stops UV. It's the IR that passes through glass which heats up the car.
I am having T50 applied to the rear windows for UV protection and a matching colour on the front.
With the rust protection I fitted four pads as two pads weren't strong enough on the size of vehicle.
On a side note got full comprehensive for a touch over $425 with a free yearly windscreen.Last edited by hypo; 07-03-2012, 05:29 PM.

I doubt that I would be able to come to any conclusions so early in, maybe you should drive it a bit more to see what you really think of it before selling it off short.Originally posted by hypo View PostWhat do people think these would be worth second hand with less than 1000km on the clock?
Once it gains a couple of cosmetic marks and scratches you never know, you might love it.

Just a bit of diesel rattle I'd think. It will rattle a little more when cold.Originally posted by puregeek View PostIs anyone getting an engine rattle between 1500-1800rpm? Mine started at about 500km mark. I thought they would have resolved this issue with the 2012 model.2011 150series GXL

The 1500rpm rattle is more than engine noise, it's caused by air intake resonance and can be easily fixed as per the 1500rpm vibration thread.Originally posted by puregeek View PostIs anyone getting an engine rattle between 1500-1800rpm?
