  • Skip73, asked my dealer about the window mod, he told me "I have no idea what you are talking about". Then went on to tell me something about overseas spec.....I just told him I would get him more info.....so frustrating the lack of product knowledge within Toyota IMO.

you might be lucky and it might already work. if not, all the dealer programmable options are listed in the back of the manual (windows down, seat belt alarm, etc.) page 612 comes to mind.

Yep ... what Wooley said. It doesn't come out of the factory programmed like that - the dealer needs to do it. Refer to the manual, it shows you all the things you can configure yourself (menu accessed from the steering wheel) and the things only the dealer can do. When I first started looking at the Altitude, it was the very first thing the dealer said - glad he did, it's a nice little feature.

          BLOODY BRILLIANT

Typical bloke havent read that far into the manual (not enough pictures)

3 service departments one said nope cant do that at all, the 2 others said oh thats a module you have to buy as an optional extra - money hungry hounds

I got the IRONMAN Protector bar installed (color coded) ----How do you adjust all your lights, I was told shadowing and reflection is all because of the lights being miss aligned

          • Looks like you guys have convinced me to upgrade my order from a GXL to an Altitude?

I am now in contact with my dealer and hope to have a response by the weekend. Change over is now down to $7700.00 however when factoring in the LCT probably about 5700?

A little work still to do but I am now convinced that I need the extras on offer?

            • Hi everyone, new to forum.

Picking up my new Altitude today! D4D version. Excited. I've been reading a lot on the forums. I did have a noob question though. Is there somewhere in the forum that talks about engine running in. It seems that there are two schools of thought and I was wondering which was right. Maybe someone has a good idea? Here's what I found...

Oh well today I upgraded to the Altitude. Quite happy with the changeover (although negotiations would have been easier if I had not already signed on the dotted line for the GXL).

The LCT is a bugger at that pricing point. Anyway managed to do the deal and now I only have a weeks wait until delivery.

Now I have to save for the extras?

                    Thanks Andrew,

I do feel like the extra money was worth it? I ended up paying under 60K change over but that included trading in the wife's VX commodore.

                        • Hi guys,
We brought a altitude prado which we absolutely love, enough toys to keep us very happy for a long time, we placed the order and had to wait 4 weeks for delivery which we picked up last Monday, I have to say that although we love the car the dealer we dealt with leaved a lot to be desired, don't want to mention which dealer but I think if your spending $60 odd thousand you should expect customer service! Seemed that once you sigh on the dotted line they don't want to know you! We waited 4 weeks to pick up and they didn even phone us the day before to see if everything was fine if we needed to be picked up..nothing! It put the whole buying a new car experience unpleasurable, when we did pick I up the salesman was rude didn't seen to want to be there and took roughly 10 mins to show us around the car, oh and guess what...no sat nav manual which I asked him about and the rely was "you don't need one it's pretty simple to operate but if you need any help you pop down and I'll see if I can sort it out for you!" that's not gonna help me if I'm stuck out in the middle of woop woop and I can't work the bloody sat nav! I have since rang Toyota Australia and the said they can send me a emailed copy, have since rang the dealer several times and they don't wanna know, we've got the car and that's it, there jobs done! Gotta say toyota need to look at holden for customer service, we brought a cruze which was half the value of th prado and they where terrific, I will not be buying from this dealer again in a few years time when I want I upgrade. This is the first toyota ive brought and im interested in other peoples experiance in customer service, is this the sort of treatment other people have experienced from Toyota dealers.

                          • Well we picked ours up this afternoon. with all of 5kms on it.. it now has 10km as i'm at work. would love to take the night off to play.

The dealership were very helpfull, I dropped off my trade(prado 120) this morning and they organised tyre swaps(cooper AT3's) and removed the roofracks for me from my current one, dropped me home, i slept until 4:30pm this afternoon, when toyota rang me with a wake up call they come picked me up drove me to the dealership where i picked up the new one and said goodbye to the old 120. Drove out of the dealership at 5:30pm at work by 5:50pm... now the mrs has put more km's on it then i did

Must say i was impressed with the service, yet to test out after sales service, but during the whole process they kept me updated, informed me of any changes. And in the end it was here 4 days early, come in yesterday, ready today.

Guess its very dealership dependant on the service you get and not "toyota" in general. If people want to be asses they will, regardless of what company they represent, every company has a few. Maybe if i got a different salesperson at the same dealership my experience would be not as good??

                            • It is ashame that for some buying a new car could be spoint by poor after sales experience. I will name my dealer and the sales person simply because I would recommend them. I even did something I would not recommend and purchased the car minus extra but was told (although not in writing) that she would add mats and a full tank of juice later.

True to her word it was there and she wouldn't give me the car until she had personally gone through the entire car with both myself and my wife. Give Jennifer at Peter Davey Werribee a call, she is not hard sell and was pleasant to deal with.

                              • Two things

My experience with the delivery guys and Toyota as a whole.....absolute garbage

I delt with Owen at The New Car Factory and believe me I will never walk into a car show room again I'll pickup the phone and talk to Owen, it's a pity the Toyota guys let down the great work Owen did for me.

The next thing.......if you bought the altitude for "your family car" don't go out and get a bullbar put on it without getting the strict approoval of your better half.....lmao
