Any news on when you will get your prado? So disappointing they have taken so long to get you one. They seem scares right now it seems. I had to hunt around just to find a dealership that had a demo to test drive, they didn't even really try to matching the price, but they did give the rav4 a detail while we was out on a half day test drive.

My car is due for pick up at the end of this week but the dealer hasnt rang yet so Im not getting too exited just yet.
Last I spoke with them was about 2 weeks ago and it was still on track for the 29th of this month. They receive car on the 27th and then its ready to pick up a couple of days after that. With Wednesday being a public holiday I can guarantee it wont be ready until early next week.
I too was pretty lucky, I ordered a 200 series VX only to cancel in favour of the Prado. I was told end of April build in January, then add 6 or more weeks to that for shipment etc. Somebody else in Brisbane had changed their order from Diesel to Petrol and I managed to grab their order jumping the que by a couple of months.
If I wanted a Petrol I could almost choose what colour I want and drive it home today. Up until recently my dealer had a Grey Kakadu, Pearl White Altitude, Pearl White VX and a Dark Furnace GXL in stock. As far as I know they still have the VX and Altitude on the floor. Seems nobody wants Petrol around here at the moment. I was tempted to get one and put it on gas, the $1000 I would have saved would have paid for half the installation and saved me $1500 on a chip for the Diesel....Im a big fan of Diesel motors so I'll happily wait another we me thinks.

Yeah I been looking at all the 4runner v6's and made me think maybe I should have went with a V6.. They seem kick ass but the resale value is just not there and the fuel cost even worst. I wouldn't have considered gas, do they have direct port injection yet?
was looking on the 4 runner forums as they have a lot more info on modifications around suspension then is available, its the same platform as far as I know.
Have you considered suspension lift? I'm looking at coil overs 2-3 inch lift they are adjustable which would help balance out the kdss when need be, started a thread about it. also keep it low while I'm driving around town to save the CV joints.. and the cops
I'm not sure if ill go with a power chip or not, they seem a bit hit and miss from what I have read, I really don't know much about the engine in the D4D prado yet, know a fair bit about the 2GR and 1GR that's in the V6s..[B]2012 - 150 VX[/B]Comment

Yeah, pretty sure the V6 is gas compatible but Im like you and prefer the economy of the diesel donk.
Yes I think I will adapt a 2" lift later down the track but havent made up my mind on which one yet. Didnt know that you could get an adjustable setup like you mentioned.
I dont think you could go too wrong with a Steinbauer Chip for the added 20% but if you want more then you'd have to wait to see if Chip It have sorted the small error occurring on some of their chips. Im hoping they have it fixed as Im keen on what they are getting out of the Prado compared to others in the industryComment

Was talking about dedicated liquid gas injection rather than the vaporization technology (dual fuel) everyone is using now days. in theory the benefits of direct liquid port injection would be overcoming the power limits of vaporization technology and also having to carry around petrol.[B]2012 - 150 VX[/B]Comment

Oh, ok. That is the same as the system used in the Clubsport R8 I believe. In southern states you can get a Govt rebate but like many other things is not available to us in Qld...
Oh, my dealer just rang 10 mins ago to inform me that my car has arrived and is ready for pick up on Friday! Woohoo!Comment

Talk about last min, got a phone call today telling me I need to go to the dealership as there was a problem, I told them I’m not going into the dealership unless its to pick up my car. Get a phone call from the manager who sounds extremely irate to a point where he was yelling at me, i hang-up
Maybe there will be another white VX on the market soon it will have 17in wheels and a tow package.

There is some complex finance around the car, which involves buying 2 cars. A prado and a rav4, they have sorted out the finace for the prado but now there is problem with the rav4. I told them upfront if they can't sort it out I'll walk, I really should have went with the bigger dealership. The only reason I went with these guys is they offers to swap my tyres over to 17s
I should know by the end of the day.
*update - got a phone call, should know early next week what the status of this will be.

Looks like I have been *approved for half the deal, just waiting now to see of all of it will get approved. I'm sure I'll have the pardo in my driveway one way or another next week.

To put it bluntly, Toyota Finance are a pack of f@#$ing a$$holes.
The only thing saving them is their generous interest rate.
BTW, I got my car yesterday arvo and I must say Im more than impressed by it.

Good to hear you got your car, I should know by Monday 12pm the state of the deal, and yeah the only reason I'm going with them is the good rates.
I think it's a combination of TFS and Dealershit.. They have never handled any kind of complex finacial deal before, and wasn't even sure it was possible untill I got a 2nd opinion from CMI who I test drive a VX with.
If this fails I'll fall back on CMI and and joing the waiting list. Or maybe I'll get a Nissan Y62.[B]2012 - 150 VX[/B]Comment
