I've had the mudflaps replaced: and a couple of mudflaps replaced under warranty as they split along the seam.

    Also had tailshaft replaced.

I've got a warranty claim going on my windscreen at the moment but I think that's it for me.

It's a fix to stop the tail shaft clunk: a few of us have had it done.

They're replaced under a 'recall': the original design was too short.

After how many k's did you have this done? Was it noticable when rolling on and off the throttle or only with selecting gears?

If they're too short, you'd probably know... The longer mud flaps became factory fitter in July 2011 though.

Had it noted at 1000km and fitted at 10,000km.
It's a clunk when you're coming to a stop. As if the car is dropping out of gear.

I have a similar one when you put the auto into drive or reverse there is an audible knock. It also sometimes does it when the engine is started and it sounds like the slack in something is taking up.

I noticed it within in the first 1000km as well so I might just head down and have it noted on the record.

I still have that knock on moving shifter to a drive gear.

I've just recently started getting a pretty loud bang on turning hard right at slow speeds. Can never reproduce it on command though.

Vscorsa, your knock sounds totally different to the other posts in regards to a clunking. The clunking there talking about has been around since the first of the prados, yours sounds totally different. The tailshaft clunk is only noticable when driving (starting and stopping). Yours sounds like it may be a bit of backlash getting taken up when putting into gear ?? Either way shouldnt be there and would definately be taking it up with toyota. Maybe see if you can take another 150 for a run and see wether you notice it in any others....Cheers Steve
...ok just read wooley's post and seems his is the same as yours sorry didnt see that before. I would still say some back lash is the offender.......Cheers

                    Hi Steve,

No worries, it is very slight however still noticeable, which with only 2500km shouldn’t be there. I will probably have the suspension upgraded in the next couple of months ready for the Simmo so want to have it registered with Toyota before that happens.

                    Cheers

Hey Steve, how did you mod the air con to run colder? I asked Toyota to test mine because on really hot days I have to keep hitting the blast button to get it cold enough. They tested it in their nice cool workshop and reckon it is coming out the vents at the right temperature, but it is still nowhere near as good on a hot day as my old 1999 Honda CRV.

The latest gas used in air conditioning does not cool as much as what might have been in your Honda. The newer gases are less effective in cooling, but suppose to be less detrimental to the environment should your system spring a leak and the gas escapes. The gas in my 1994 model 80 series was the best for cooling, but when the compressor died in 2005, the system needed a re-gas but could only have the newer, less effective gas added, and the cooling effect was not as good.

Hi there Yowie, there may have been issues when using an old style compressor but with the new gas (134a) used to be (R12 in the old systems) when I worked for toyota and we use to retrofit them. I was there between the change over 93/94. The reason the aircon in some 120's has an issue seems to be because the thermistor it to close to the evap and is detecting it cold very quickly then cutting out. With the mod that Adrian has posted you can get the temp down really low eg mine is running at 1c out the vents instead of the 11 it was when I bought it. This may be a bit low and so far hasnt frozen up but will see how it goes in summer on a longer drive, over time it may freeze which thanks to Adrians mod will take me approximately 2 seconds to turn up the dial, love it. My wifes car (06 model) which is obviously running the new gas runs at approx 2 to 2.5 out the vents from the factory, my commodore was 2 my old prado 3 to 4 and wifes older car but still running new gas was 1 to 1.5 so all these vehicles are running the new 134a gas with no issues. I had issues with my old zuk running old system with new gas wouldnt cool down like it use to with the older gas R12, but agree with the 80 they had fantastic aircon and would get extremely cold while running on old gas, new gas for them was no where near as good. Cheers Steve

                                Copy that Steve.

With the 150, the climate control air allows for an alteration to the temp, or different temps for driver and passenger sides, though have not measured the actual temp at the outlets.

Mine is 2 years old now, so far, so good!
