Did almost 9000 km in 4 weeks, no problems with the seats for me or my passengers.

Although my wife reckons the front passenger seat in the 120 was more comfortable than the 150.

The driver's seat (at least) in our 2013 seems pretty bad. My Dad complains of a sore left hip after being in it for more than about an hour. I just borrowed it for 2 days to drive 4 hours each day; by the third hour on the second day I had EXACTLY the symptoms he complains about. A sort of pain that feels like it's somehow underneath the hip socket... but only on the left side.

I've actually just joined PradoPoint today to see if anyone else has experienced anything like this but so far it seems that we're just freaks...

Does your dad have a tendency to lean on the centre console? That may explain why it's only on the left side.

Or does he have his wallet in his rear pocket causing the body to be twisted. I find mine is more comfortable with nothing in rear pockets

I left Tibooburra NSW at 6:30 in the morning and got home to the northside of Brisbane at 11:30 that same night only stopping once or twice and did just over 1400km and didn't have a problem and I have genuine Toyota canvas seat covers.

My wife has been complaining about back/ butt pain and discomfort from her daily drive, 120 series, for a while. I jumped in it the other day and was in massive pain from the seats after about 15 minutes . Thinking back I was in pain on some of the longer trips we have done but I thought it was just me. Nope. We did a day trip today and the same thing happened. I have resorted to rolling up a tea towel sized sheet of micro fibre cloth, sticking it between the middle of my back and the seat. No pain.
I know there is a thread about after market seats that are airbag compatible but the 3K recaro seats are not the answer for me.

Has anybody ever done a repack/ refurbish of 120 series seats or have an alternative to the Recaro seats? This is an issue that MUST be fixed. Our rig has done 200K so its no wonder they are a bit shitty. We are considering getting an upholstering joint to take a look at them but would appreciate any ideas, recommendations etc from other members. We are also sporting Wet Seat covers and have no desire to go wool.Cheers

200k equates to at least 4000hrs of use and depending on your weight the seats are probably fairly worn.

A decent upholsterer should be able to get the seats to better than new. The key is choosing the right foam.

We travel from Perth up to Cape Leveque and have no probs at all with the seats.But... we have got sheepskin seat covers from SCA and find the fit and comfort great. and a small piece of foam behind the seat cover on the passengers side works a treat for the old lower back

Seats are a very personal thing however the 120 GXL seats and the 150 GXL passenger seat don't have adjustable lumbar support. You can buy an inflatable lumbar support that a trimmer can fit in the correct position for your back. It can be pumped up to provide lots of lumbar support or deflated to provide less. I think Recaro can supply theses inflatable lumbar supports

From time to time I find the front passenger seat almost unbearable on a long trip. The secret is to put sleeping tablets in her coffee and then my ears can relax.

120 seats = we have just done 20k in 11 weeks including the Cape York and never once had an issue with the seats or comfort....love em, blackduck denim covers only nothing else needed and can't wait to be back in it again. Better than my old man's fairmont seats.

I am lucky enough to have all electric seats. I occasionally do a 12 hour day through central west to visit outlaws. When my bum starts to ache I adjust lumbar support and seat tilt. Also if you have cruise control you can put seat up high and drop both feet straight down. In the end nothing beats getting out and taking a five minute walk.

If it really bothers you, just get a Recaro seat, problem solved, but bank balance takes a hit.
