  • Car suddenly off!!!

Hi guys, I really need a big help, or suggestions from you.

Yesterday I was driving with my family from Rome to Florence on the motorway, cruiser control on at 120 Km/h, diesel tank full.
All of a sudden the engine turned off, and the TRC, LO Gear, Engine etc warning lights went on.
It was really dangerous, I had to stop the car, and ask for assistance, now I am waiting tomorrow to bring the car to the Toyota assistance.
Do you have some ideas...it's like something everything got crazy and no more power.
If I try to turn on the engine, it's like there is no diesel.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions, will be really appreciated.

    Thanks

    Piero

Assuming you don't have ECU fault, most multiple system faults are caused by power failure,
check your battery and make sure the alternator is charging it.

Under diagnosis now, close to Rome. But no error codes now because I disconnected the battery to reset the system...

          So some update.

The car is still at the Toyota.
They worked all the day, and were not able to understand what is happened.
The only thing is that the diesel is arriving to the pump but doesn't arrive to the injectors.
They are trying and trying...but nothing, it doesn't start. Mystery.
The dealer called the Toyota Italy to have support from their engineers.
          I hope for the best.

The engineers of Toyota Italy understood the problem.

The EDU (the electronic unit that manage the injectors) got burnt. Nice no?
This is why the car turned off suddenly at 120 Km/h.

But still it is not clear the cause.
              Anybody has some idea?

              from Toyota-corolla.ru

              Note:
              DESCRIPTION
The EDU drives the injectors at high speeds. The EDU delivers high-speed drive signals under high-pressure fuel conditions using the DC/DC converter, which provides a high-voltage and quick-charging system.
Soon after the EDU receives an injection command (#) signal from the ECM, the EDU responds to the command with an injector injection confirmation (INJF) signal when the current is applied to the injector.

The ECM continuously monitors both injection command (#) signals and injection confirmation (INJF) signals. This DTC will be set if the ECM determines that the number of # signals and INJF signals are inconsistent.
The injectors are grounded over a Field Effect Transistor (FET) and a serial resistor. This resistor creates a voltage drop, which is monitored by the EDU (injector drive circuit), in relation to the current drawn by the injector. When the injector current becomes too high, the voltage drop over the resistor exceeds a specified level and no INJF signal for that cylinder is sent to the ECM.
P0200 refers to a malfunction in the EDU or injector circuit.
If this DTC is set, the ECM enters fail-safe mode and limits engine power or stops the engine. The fail-safe mode continues until the ignition switch is turned off.
