Just to make it easier.
So what I did was cut the original cable 100mm back from the connector, join the cables, you do just need to seal off 1 of the original earth wires, and then used the connector.
Took about 30 mins to do each side, including changing the fog light bulbs,
and adjusting that wiring also, once I had the wings off.
Looks good now, and I won't have to replace those damn bulbs again now.
Geoff
Im not Bogged - I've just lost traction. . . . . and now I'm showing the wife why I bought those Maxtrax, and the tyre deflator, and the compressor, and the bullbar, and the winch, and a lot of other goodies I've hidden in the Prado

Hi Ozimacca, drove 60 kms today to work round trip, must say it is much quieter at all speeds and you have to check the TACO to see what revs you are doing, as mentioned in another thread, I have a small dash vibration now, now motor is so much quieter. Waiting on reply about the small plastic tab at the bottom of the windscreen that may be causing it. Otherwise much nicer environment to be in

Thanks for the reply, if you were able to fix it maybe Toyo ought to get off their b*ms and do the same for anyone who has the problem !
Mine is only new and no problem yet but I it is so common that I wanted to check how you went, I have saved your post just in case mine starts it.

Originally posted by gavinvbrf9 View PostThat is good, mine is 6 years old, so vibration can be anything, Give Simon a call at Newcastle Pro Sound in Jesmond, for $100 and $15 for seven trim clips for the wheel arch plastic (bought from toyota) you will have a quieter vehicle - their phone number is 4965 6899. They are professional installers. I am no way affiliated to them and I am only posting this thread as it has made a difference. I was on the edge of buying the new diesel in August , as they are stating it is quieter, and vibrates less. But I am now happy to keep this one as this simple fix has made it a better drive. All they do is remove the plastic wheel arch mould, stick the dynamat on the steel, replace plastic mould, you dont notice anything has been done.
