Received my springs and shocks from Zordo. Off to buy a trolley jack now so I can have a crack at installing it myself.
Where's a good spot under the front end to jack from ?

Front jack point under the front doors on the chassis.

While you are at it, get some decent jackstands.

LOL yeah I know I can use the jack point on each side, but I meant in the center for using the trolley jack to raise the whole front end at once. Or can't this be done ?
I already have chassis stands.

There is a circle pressing under the engine, That is the jacking point.

You'd need a central jack point, not sure if there is one... (there is, thanks ZORDO)

Only takes a couple of minutes with a trolley jack.

If I have aftermarket bash plates will that central jack point be accessible ?

Note the position of the mounting bolts to the crossmember & use a bit of 2 x3 on the floor jack so it does not damage the bash plates

Finished installing a Uniden 8080S UHF. Power via the middle console cig lighter wires - pretty easy to get to when you have everything apart, as the entire middle console just lifts straight up and is all clips. The mic/speaker/control plugs into a modified switch blank with the extension cable running back to the UHF. Easy enough to run the antenna cable through the firewall on the passenger side. The head unit is mounted in the 'business card holder' area. The mic is held in place with a ClicOn.

I'm keen to find out too. From what I have seen on here and the FJ cruiser forum, they aren't too bad. Decent light and a solid mount.

Got it back from 90k service.... And the radio replaced under warranty.

Needs transfer case and both diff oils to be flushed still!! Will do myself hopefully!

TNF 52/12 ECU flash done, CV boot replaced and service carried out. Runs like a dream now!
