I fully agree with you Yota, a lot of people get sucked in easily when purchasing a new car or whatever it may be. I spent at least 40 mins with a sales representative talking about extended warranties and car care protection. A Prado is a rugged reliable fourby with a touch of class, many people who buys a Prado would want to turn it into an angry beast by putting aftermarkets parts on it which voids the warranty and who needs car care products if you have a dent or a prominent scratch from the last time you went off road. That said, if you are a brand new Kakadu owner you would want to purchase all these available products/options for your vehicle and lets face it 98% of the time that vehicle will never go off road if you are the first person owner of that brand new Kakadu or not at least for another 5 years.
I just wish that sometimes sales reps would be honest with you by saying "you don't need it for the following reasons..." instead of "get it it is an expensive vehicle/ you need it/ everything must go/ it's a fire sale/ we are the best in the business and we will give you a good deal/ do you think my hair is pretty..."
What I love is when they start bad mouthing other companies and say that they are the best and they have the best products.
Take ownership for your actions... If you don't look after something, it will fail you. Do your homework before you purchase a vehicle or whatever it may be in relation with previous warranty claims.Comment

I couldn't find a batch number on my card, it was listed as a stock number. It took the stock number but when registering on my toyota it was giving me an error, phone call to customer service and they got it going. But recently had trouble with toyota link, again kept giving me an error, another call to customer service, had done everything they suggested then they finally gave up and said they would have to raise a case for someone to look into it. Never heard back from them but it started working later that day, so someone did somethingComment

I have a gxl and so far the extra apps are pretty useless because of the lack of satnav. I hope they give you the option to buy/install something that can use the phones navigation.Comment

Its probably quite easy to do but from a marketing point of view its not good for toyota, if you start adding extras to the GXL it starts to make the VX less attractive, all car makers do it, they need to attract buyers to the more expensive up market models and they do this by holding out on extras for the lower models.Originally posted by Ben2000 View PostComment

The unit is made by Zenec. It a plug and play system that mounts
In the glove box. It runs both igo premium and Hema(requires separate card)
Been quoted $1300 installed extra $200 for the Hema map.
3 year warranty and the guy comes to you!
