I think it is going to be a great seller, sure it won't suit everyone but still a great vehicle packed with extras.

87 litre fuel tank would mean 1000km range in theory in a stock vehicle, a lot of people will be happy with that
Ha, you only get 1200km from the dual tanks before the distance to empty reaches zero.

90L tank with 15L reserve will get you 750kms at best on average.

I seenthe pics on Friday, looks horn I reckon! But yeah all the prado Advantages are goooooorn.

Reading the release from Toyota, the altitude is to test the Aussie market to see if this configuration will be accepted.

Let's face it, 9 outa 10 prado's sold are shiny shopping trolleys.

Looks like the value of my Altitude may even go up. Imagine that a new car that might appreciate in value. Unheard of eh.

Wonder if the single tank is any larger?

If one likes the Altitude, then buy a swing wheel device and put in a big 2nd fuel tank ... probably cheaper than not buying an Altitude if its extras are good ones.

I note that right now GXLs with some extras are drive away at $61k.

Well I don't go off road much but love the large tank capacity, better for towing and only need to fill up once every few weeks. I wish they would do something really worth while and release a V6 diesel!!!

I have always wondered why Toyota didn't release this version in Aus before now, the present barn door is often a total pain in tight spaces, well done Toyota

Funny to call it Altitude if you get smaller range than in the normal Prado should have called it "Soccer Mum's edition"

The 150 overseas model is like the above picture but the door swings the same as an Australian edition. Also for sale in the USA. Cheers.

I was trying to work out what everyone was excited about, the barn door is standard on all models, the only difference is Aus gets rear mounted spare to fit the second tank. The same for South Africa I believe.

The glass lifts up, but the whole door is a barn, just 20kg lighter with no spare.

So the door swings sideways (as per normal 150) or up?

I've always had the dream of fitting a "tyre-less" door with a swing away carrier, hopefully this dream just got a little closer (hate to think what they charge for a rear door though....)

I believe the door still swings sideways but the glass lifts up.
