Anyone having / had issues with condensation on their front windscreen?

Got back after 4 days away to a small build up of condensation / fog on the inside of the windscreen. (It was parked outside and was rained on for most of the four days…..) Ran the aircon / heat for a couple of mins and it went away.

I pulled took the sandgrabba’s out and pulled back the carpets both sides – no moisture.

I have seen this happen on other cars if you leave the vent set to fresh air and demist when you turn the car off.

You were breathing inside the Prado before you closed it, leaving moist air inside.

When the rain happens, it cools the air on the inside and that forms condensation on the inside of the glass. The condensation forms more easily on the windscreen because it is sloping, as opposed to the vertical side windows.

(tip - don't breathe and drive - ha ha ha)

If you remember back to your young days, parking at night time, windows closed, having a "Ronnie coot" in the back seat, the windows fog up very quickly.

Unfortunately, I wasnt shagging inside it before closing it up for 4 days.....

I think the Mrs used it last with the kids - a few days prior to my return..... I am now thinking she might have wrapped up a wet umbrella and left it on the middle row floor sandgrabbas.

I previously had an issue with water getting in via the plastic grill - removed when Toyota blew up my engine.... so now a little paranoid.

Yes me too, a bit disapointed to have it on a new car didn't expect it thought they might've cured that problem, annoying aye ?

Have had this in the liberty, was a problem until I had the windscreen replaced. Maybe the rubber somewhere around the widow isn`t sealing as well as it should.
Get some cloth tape/ bear tape/ 100mph tape and run it around the windscreen see it it disappears.

I just had the windscreen replaced..... did it before and after replacement. And Novus where very thorough.... they saw how the previous person butchered the window, cleaned it up real good and touched up paint, replaced the side window trims and even my rear view mirror.

This happened to me the night I picked mine up. In side the windscreen was dripping. Having just handed over the cheque I got that sinking feeling as I sat there for fifteen minutes waiting for the water to evaporate with the heater on full heat, full fan.

The vehicle had been sitting for a couple of week as the owner had already replaced it and it was when Sydney was having a lot of rain. It hasn't happened since.

I'm having trouble now finding a way to clean the inside of the windscreen properly. It fogs up real quick without the aircon and its plain to see I've just smeared the dirt around.

Squirt with metho and wipe dry. Then get a clean dry microfibre cloth and give it a good rub down.
