Body control module playing up

Hey All, I had a burning smell coming out of my car one day and my front passenger door light stopped working. I had recently replaced all the interior lights with led's. I took it to the local dealer and they worked out that the body control module wiring loom had burnt out and were blaming it in the led lights.
Apparently they can short out internally and cause the wiring to overheat. So much for the fuse system. They did a test on the led power draw and it was so low they decided it couldn’t be the problem. The wiring loom was replaced under warranty. All has been good for the last 8 months ... Until it came back from a service. If you unlock the vehicle from the passenger front door it auto locks after 30 seconds, and if you put the keys in the front and shut the door it locks them in. Has anyone else had these problems? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like some has changed the alarm settings, if set to and you unlock the
door but don't open it the car will auto lock?

Hi LeighW, I will give it a go tomorrow. What worries me is that the door locks with the keys inside and that the passenger door courtesy light stopped working.

Obvious question, batteries ok in the remotes? Auto lock is normal if the door isn't opened but it shouldn't lock with a key inside unless you press the lock button on the other remote. If you use the sensors on the doors the car should scream at you. Check the alarm settings as Leigh suggests.

Ditto. My rear door courtesy switch was faulty - interior light wouldn't come on when rear door opened.

Subsequently, it would also auto lock when only accessing the rear door. Switch was about $35, all good since replacing.

Thanks for all the advice, I made the call this morning and booked it into the local dealer, Especially after i opened the passenger door left it open untill it auto locked and then shut it to have the alarm go off. Will post on the results on Friday night.
I will check out the door switch though.

Thanks Yota, you got it. I played swappsies with the drivers side door switch and bingo that was the problem.
I am so glad it isnt something worse. Thanks for your help everyone....
