  • What Wax Or Polish do you use on your car?

Just polished the PRADO today and used a Meguiars Cutting Compound then hit it afterwards with Meguiars Carnauba Premium Gold Class Liquid Wax. Looks very good IMO.

But I've used Nu Finish Polish & Meguiars NXT Tech Wax 2.0 in the past & really torn between which one I want to continue using.

Does anyone have any preferences or do the use any other waxs/polishes?

    Cheers

    I Used a product called 22PLE..
Its a paint protection that forms a glass coating on your paint which protects it from all the elements
Ive put mine on my car about a year ago and water still beads off the paint
Only problem with applying it is the paint preparation.

    Check out the shine!

i was using the following Meguiars products SHOWCAR GLAZE and QUIK WAX.
      Very happy with the results.

I received a Aqua Wax kit Sample pack give away from Autoglym and used it on the weekend.
      the results were excellent.
I have previously used some of their other products with great results.
Some of the others on here that received the sample pack maybe able to comment on the other Autoglym products.

I use the meguiars ultimate series. Ultimate compound for running out light marks and stubborn water spots, ultimate polish to make it all shiney and ultimate wax to seal it all. That is used after a wash with dishwashing liquid to remove all the old wax, a clay bar to remove any surface gunk, paint cleaner to remove any heavy staining, scratch-x to remove scratches. Normal washes are done with meguiars next gen car wash, water wiped off and then the whole car is done with last touch (a bulk pack version of quik detailer). Every couple of washes I'll throw in a round of quik wax before the last touch. The big clean is done once every 6 months or so and takes a full day........

Interior is a completely different story, and gets a through clean at least once a fortnight. Vac, wipe over all serfaces, glass clean and any marks cleaned out/off. I might be pedantic, but the car looks better now than it did when we picked it up from the dealer.

TJM Bullbar, Lightforce Genisis Spots, Dual Battery System with bits from everyone, Powerful 4x4 slider/steps, Kaymar rear bar, "Genuine" Roof Racks, MSA Seatcovers, Dashmat, Tint, LED Interior Globes, Bridgestone D697s [/LEFT]

Very similar to what I do with my cars. Looks awesome. You drive around and notice all the other dull looking cars with the same paint and you feel good!!

Yeah mate, it's amazing how good she looks. My best mate recently bought a VF Redling wagon in white. Really nice car but the first time I saw it it was just not quite right, the white didn't quite pop and the car looked a year or so old. Had him over for "the master class" (as he put it) and now, wow. The Commodore looks as good as it goes now, I converted him to my system. He has since commented how much easyer it is to clean now, and therefore does it more often.

Totally agree! Much easier to wash and my white PRADO looks awesome. Missus has new mazda 6 and it's the peral White but now I need todo the paint care on that as I touched it and it looks crap imo.
Did the horse float with the same application system as cars and its come up from dull to amazing! It's 10 years old but looks brand new. Here's a photo!!

I guess it all comes down to how fussy you are.
Ive spent thousands of dollars on polishes, waxes, cleaning cloths etc.

To get my car that shiny, i buffed it with a rotary buffer once, then twice with a orbital buffer, using different compounds buffing pads etc. This took me a day.
I then washed the car and wiped the whole car down with isopropyl alcohol to get all the polishing compound off the paint. Then applied 22PLE paint protection.

I spent a good day and a half in total.
