Passenger Wiper Blade

I just had my wiper blades replaced at my last service. Looking at the passenger one, the ends of the blade no longer touch the windscreen...

It is leaving streaks up the middle of the windscreen...

Any ideas on why this has happened?

Either a defective rubber blade inserts were installed by mistake or the rubber itself tore apart.
The passenger side wiper blade rubber on my car tore apart with less than 2K kilometers and it was a brand new car. (Had like 4 months)

The rubber looks fine. It just isn't being pushed into the windscreen at the ends.

Try swapping the two metal backing strips around on the rubber.

Then i'd guess the metal strips are defective and dont bend and put enough pressure on the windshield.

I've had a bit of a quick look this morning - in the rain - and it all looks ok.
I might have to pull the blade out when i get home tonight and have a closer inspection.

If you pull the metal strips out they might have a slight curve in them from the tension of the original position on the rubber. Just a thought?

It was a bit dark and miserable by the time I got home last night. I hope to pull the blade out and take a peek tonight.

Had a look tonight and all I can tell is that the passenger blade is straight and the driver one is curved
Everything else looks normal. It seems like the blade isn't being pulled in in the middle.

Not sure if it will help but have a look at my post in my build thread from when I installed the Bosch Aerotwin wipers, the top wiper in the pic is the original factory blade on the passenger side.

Your OEM passenger blade has a curve to it. It's subtle but I reckon I can see it.

Are you sure they used the correct insert? I replaced the entire blade, not just the rubber, as the factory ones were useless.

It's seeming like I may need to head back to the dealer to get this sorted. Something I was hoping to avoid.

Definitely looks like a defective blade insert was installed. It should have a slight curve/bend and not stay straight!

I fixed it. Well enough for tonight anyway.

The metal bits were removable so I clamped them into a bit of a curve and heated them with a blow torch and created a curve.

It's not quite enough, but definitely an improvement.
