Retrofitting Heated Seats

Howdy 150 drivers!

I'm in the market for a low-km VX because of the nice shiny things like KDSS, Satnav, HID headlights annnnd the mother-loving heated seats!!

Buuuuuuut, they're a touch pricey. About the same as a Kakadu, as it turns out.

I'm a firm believer that I'd rather be a 150 driver without KDSS, than not a 150 driver all together. So. Has anyone successfully tried throwing the heated seats from a VX/Kakadu into a GXL?

The system is there. Just need the seats and switches ect? As every model has the same wiring just missing the parts?

haven't done exactly that but what i did do was get a good aftermarket set and fit them to my GX...complete with OE look switches.

Best mod ive done...why? keeps my wife very happy as she tends to get cold at temperatures below 30 degrees.

yep has airbags in the gx and in no way do the elements even get near. once you take the seat out and cover off you will see. unless of course you ticked the ejector seat option with the airbags that deploy right under your bum ha ha

Ah. Thought you were replacing the whole seat but you are just adding an electric blanket.

I beleive ideal seat can supply recaro seats with airbags in them compatible with our prados, but only if your pockets are deep enough! They can also be optioned with seat warmers and all sorts of other things.
