Well that information contradicts what the "guest experience centre" has told me. I have received very good news from them that 2015 is the latest version and they will order a card for me. They have promised to email me when it has arrived so will keep you posted.
If new vehicles are being sold with this version then the 2014 map cannot be the latest so the dealer must have told you wrong information?Comment

Just spoke with Toyota Parts today. I have a 2012 VX with R18 maps. The latest is R22 released in Feb 2016. Price is $325.60 - none in stock! Toyota part number PZQ8600301.

I spoke to my dealer and they have also ordered the 2015 maps for me - part number ends in 173. It should be here within 2-3 weeks, as they said there's very limited stock of them (I don't know why).Comment

Just checking with Windsor Toyota spare parts, and was told that a micro SD card will probably be available during early 2017 with the latest upgrade for the 200 series cruiser. Cannot tell if it applies to the Prado as well, but would assume so.Comment

It's possible but I asked them twice based on the recent info in this thread, and they confirmed in person, on the invoice and at vehicle pickup that the most current maps for the vehicle are currently installed. i.e. the old ones. Interesting!: if new (2015) maps were available in Feb 2016 then I was provided with 'out of date' maps when I picked up my new car in March 2016. Might be having a few conversations with my dealer!Comment

I now own a 2016 200 series. The Toyota mapping has a speed camera on it (situated near Cronulla, southern Sydney) with a speed limit of 60 k/h. This particular camera was changed to 70 k/h at least 5 years ago, so how f#*^#*g old is the mapping update? 2015 Q4 maps (86271-0E173 SD card maps)
I now have 2015 Q4 maps (86271-0E173 SD card part number) installed by the Toyota dealer in my 2014 VX Prado. Maps just arrived to dealer this week (November 2016 release).
Cost was $330.
