Crunching / rapid clicking when DAC 4LO active

    Dear Bearded Pilot,

    Of interest, in my Owners manual, (and hopefully its still there), it had a warning something to the effect...Notice: The DAC makes crunching noises, this is normal, it is not problem and it is functioning as designed...or words along those lines...seriously.

    So, time to get out the books, put them on the bedside table, and if you can't get to sleep then start reading....by reading the manual you will be amazed at what you will find...seriously...

        That's funny, I put my none-DAC box into 4L, 1st gear and it will come down the hill without running away too.

              I used it once, made by kids cry. Don't use it any more. Makes me laugh when Everest lovers use the DAC argument that the Ford on is better because it works and is slow, but my argument is if you rely on DAC, you shouldn't be in a 4WD to begin with.

                  Thats my feeling. Tried it once and got SWMBO to try it when she was playing. Both times it got turned off never to be used again. Low gear and Steady manual braking when needed works better for me and i reckon a lot less wear and tear on the car
