Tyre monitoring Systems - which would you recommend

Does anyone have a system with at least 8 sensors? Looking for a set for the Prado as well as tandem axle van. The ones i have seen generally use the same frequency so i am thinking i cant just double up and use 2systems in parallel.

I use the AVE TPMS system supports up to 27 tyres. Very happy with it, I have used it the last 5 years and has alerted us to a couple of tyre issues which could have caused a whole lot more excitement if we didn't have the TPMS installed.

Hey All

Just finished a 6 month trip around oz and I used the Doran TPMS, fantastic unit and can run up to 30 or so sensors. We were towing a dual axle van so used 8 sensors, travelled the GRR, Tanami etc, does cost a bit more but couldn't fault it, can be plumbed in or plug it into the cig socket.

I've ordered a CAREUD U912 TPMS with 4 external sensors. Has not arrived yet. Got to install it. I'll let you know how it goes.

Inawise make excellent units, no repeater required even for the trailer caravan etc.

I purchased a Sensatyre system ( http://www.sensatyre.com/ ) and more than happy with it. My sensors are inside the tyre which in my opinion provides more accurate reading for temperature and less likelihood of being damaged or stolen.

I got TPMS external sensors. So far they are good but the display screen is very small.

I ended up getting the Safe-T-Tyre system. It seems to work well. I will be heading down to my local tyre fitter to ask about a second valve stem to be fitted to the rims so that I do not have to remove the sensor every time I air down or air up.

Buy one of the inawise units, I tried a few with my camper van before the inawise and never had any success, the inawise works perfecty and no repeater is required.

They have a unit with long distance sensors and the display has external antennas though most don't need to locate the antennas externally they just mount them up under the dash.


I just wanted the smaller 4 sensor model for the van which just used the normal sensors and not the long distance types, they guaranteed me the would work ok but I still wanted the long distance sensors to be sure to be sure and I asked if they could swap the standard ones with the long distance ones. They weren't sure if they would work so did some checking with the manufacturer and they said they would. They then bench tested a unit with the long distance sensor to make sure it would function correctly and then supplied it to me. Their pre sales and after sales service is excellent.

They have both external and internal type sensors, I have a set of internal sensors that are 10 years old and still showing full battery!
