Does anyone know what type of warning triangle fits in the area next to the tool kit? There is also an L shaped area above the warning triangle area, what goes in that slot?
i heard that from 2010 Toyota wont be supplying any tools with their four wheel drives that can be used on Toyotas. Apparantly their researcch shows that it would me of much greater value to have a set of tools on board that would suit a Nissan Pootrol!!!!
I had a blank space where the pliers were in my tool kit, I had a Nissan pair of pliers that fit just right.

The missing spanner fromthe 150 Prado toolkit is: Toyota Spare Part number 99914-10810 (8mm & 10mm open end spanner), Cost = $4:00 and fits perfectly in the 150 Prado toolkit. I also carry extensive spares and tools when travelling, but I don't leave that kit in the car all the time, so its handy to have a few tools. (Why don't they just supply the darn spanner from new?)
SE Qld: GX 150GD Auto, (Feb'16 build): TJM T15 steel b bar, 9,500lb TORQ winch, TJM s steps, Rhino Pioneer Platform (42102B 1928X1236mm), front recovery points, Wynnum towbar, P3 brake controller, TNN Underbody guards, UHF, TREKtable & LED striplight, Custom Fridge & Drawers, Waeco CFX50, 9inch illuminator 160W LED spots, 40mm lifted Dobinson Suspension (Zordo's), ScanguageII, 30 Sec Wing Awning
I can see the vacant slots for what seems to be missing tools?
If my photographic memory serves me well I would say one is for the Nissan snatch strap and the other is for the Toyota Cheesy Grin that you put into your mouth like a dummy when asked by a Nissan owner for a snatch!
Recently purchased a new Prado, looks great and a bit bigger than I originally thought, but nice!
Checked the tool holding area on the rear door and have noticed some of the tool indents don't have tools etc in them. Is this normal on the GXL,
thought the upmarket Prados may have these and didn't wish to hassle the dealer first.
Thanks, Richie.
I picked up my new Altitude last Wednesday and couldnt believe there would be a half empty toolkit in there. As for the spare wheel cover 12mm bolt, a nice lil ratchet ring does the job nicely
I had to change my GLX tyre the other day for the first time and found out what all the stuff in the tool set was for - needed every part to do the job. My feeling is that the blanks are for the parts needed to change the tyre in the overseas models with the spare slung under back - very similar bits to my old Kluger. BTW the other compartment (the bit with the straps) exactly fits the safety triangle which I brought back from a stint in Germany - where they are compulsory.
I am new prado 150 user. Have few questions on the picture attached:
1. What tool shall be in position A? I just guess it is for some converter for supplied box wrench. But have no idea what size to what?
2. What brand of flash light will fit in B position?
3. What tools i can put in C?
