Hi All,
I recently had the misfortune of drowning my 07 DiD Pajero and am 99% certain it will be written off tommorow morning, so I will be in the market for a new 4by.
I loved the Paj, but now want more refinement. I was interested in a LR Disco 4 which is a far superior vehicle in many aspects, but after doing the maths and factoring in resale, the Prado will actually work out to be much much cheaper on a 2 year lease. Combine that with the fact that my second set of wheels with Cooper ST-Cs will fit straight onto the Prado and that the aftermarket will develop accessories much faster (I want a tourer now damnit) and I'm strongly leaning towards a VX D4D Prado as a pragmatic choice.
Last time I was truck shopping I disliked the 120 Prado due to its sloppy handling and bodyroll. Having driven the 150 VX with KDSS I can say this is much improved. Typical Toyota to not have it as an option across the range! The rear seat configuration blows goat with the way the scuff trim panels are integrated but no doubt there will be work arounds.
I'm just wondering how long people are waiting for delivery? I have read some who are waiting until March/April for GXLs. What about the lower volume models (VX and Kakadu)? I don't want to be getting around in my wife's econobox for too long!
