I would suggest you go for a small one, on Ebay the cyclonic ones come in two sizes from memory, the larger probably
suits the prado better in theory. A while back I was watching a 4x4 video, they had a diesel guy talking about pre cleaners
and he advised not to get one that is to big as they don't work effectively, better to err on the small side and I found this to
be the case. I initially had a Donaldson top spin for my 120 that was sized for the motor and found though it did work to
some degree the air cleaner element was still getting dusty.
I replaced it with a much cheaper and smaller vortex type purchased of Ebay and found it works much better, after 10000kms
of travelling very dusty roads I found the cleaner element to be still clean. Each day emptied quite a lot of dust out of the filter.
My opinion is get a unit that is to small for the motor as they remove more dust due to the high air flow through the filter. Yes
full throttle power will be down at high revs but this is usually not an issue on dirty roads. I used to put the pre-cleaner on
when we hit the dirt and took it off back on the bitumen. these days take it off when its convenient as I don't really notice
the drop off in top end performance anyway.HKB Electronics, manufacturer of the Alternator Voltage Booster, Silver 2008 D4D,Lifted,Underbody protection, Alternator Voltage Booster, Tiger Z winch, Lightforce DL, Air Horns, Tanami Drawers, Drop down fridge slide, Outback cargo barriers, Rotronics dual Battery system, Polaris GPS, HF/UHF/VHF, Radio speaker combiner, Long ranger water tank, Diff breathers, Inverter, Snorkel and others
