If I had a vote I'd go for migrating to a different platform. Theoretically, content shouldn't be lost. There's a lot of how-to's out there but if content was lost then that's acceptable, in my opinion.

Sorry, even if vBulletin V5 has an issue, the Admin is the reason they chose V5 to use the system and does not fix or maintain it.
The Admin owns Pradopoint and spends almost no time at it. Locks out the other supporters. Wrecked it.
Plenty of forums using V5 and aren't wrecked like Pradopoint.
The reason Pradopoint is broken is because the Admin moved it to V5 and did not maintain it. Could have moved it back, or moved to a different forum system, but no, it has been wrecked for many months by the Admin.

The Fortuner forum is like this one free, it must have a smaller number of users as surely there are less Fortuner owners than Prados? yet it manages to work without a hitch running vBulletin® Version 5.4.4 as opposed to this one still on version 5.3.4
I can go to the home page without it asking me to login, even though I am already logged in and I can post without this error which is still happening despite admin being advised of it:- Invalid SQL: SELECT * FROM cacheevent WHERE `event` IN ('nodeChg_741518','nodeChg_741443','nodeChg_47','n odeChg_18','nodeChg_2','nodeChg_1');

Hi All,
There is no point at laying blame at people or software....keep in mind this is a free forum and someone must spend their time and money in ensuring the site has resources to remain running. As mentioned before I manage a number of forums for which I pay for ..as in hosting, my time etc etc. I do this for my interest of classic cars, my interest in technology and for the interest and support of the forum members. Also have been members of forums where admin/owners of forums have enough and they close down the forum....ride off into the sun set and everything is then lost.
The other point is the future of a forum...who will continue to manage it and pay for hosting when members move on. Paying a nominal members fee to manage the forum may be an option, but u will still have the same ownership and care of maintaining the site....managing and looking after other people money also has it's headaches.
and facebook is not an alternative......Regards SAFTGT

Im happy to take over admin and get the site working again.... I dont see the need to charge members for this service... income can be generated in other ways!
Its interesting that with comments being made ADMIN are quiet... dont comment... dont take up offers of assistance... they really just dont care!

If the issue fundraising or micro contributions , they r not to difficult. if the issue is funding ....
If the issue is the vbulitin there r other alternatives ,
If the issue is interest from the owners , or the lack of it , that is another thing all together ,
I for one use both , forum and f.b. . fb is great for instant updates and instant advise and responses , but the forum one can get indepth and have real conversations , and share info and experiences on a different level ,
also its the age of the people , generations change and there ways of communication also changes , for me its a change that im not sure i like , but it is effective in some cases rather than forum where people answers are slower to the mark .
But that being said a poorly run or poorly functional , or a poor interest towards a forum is a death sentence , with the faster tec taking over dysfunctional dinosaurs ,we will surly fall .
Its not what i want just my observation so far , and i have not been a member so long ,.
I would love the forum to get back on it feet .
