Mounting a Piranha DBE 180-SX Dual Battery Management System in a 2018 Prado

Hi,

I am wondering if someone could share where they have mounted this specific unit in their engine bays please. I was looking to fabricate a plate which would bolt into existing thread but hope someone else can share their thoughts please.

Thanks Leigh, I have spoken directly with Piranha and they have said that it will be fine when charging a deep cycle battery however it will not suit Lythium and I think AGM batteries.

Piranha have a specific bracket to suit their unit to fit the Prado. ( well they did for my 2015 model 3.0 litre back in 2015) went behind air filter on the sidewall

How wrong can they get it, a deep cycle battery is an AGM battery! About the only battery that system will
work with in your model is a Lithium one.

Piranha are leading you astray, your Prado is fitted with a low voltage alternator and your battery
will not charge your battery using their isolator. Normally they would also sell you their very expensive
AOC to raise the voltage to a suitable level but you can't use a booster on your model.

They have sold you a product that won't work effectively with your model, take it back for a refund.

solenoid isolaters are going the way of the dinosaurs , they ant so cheap when you cant take them out of your old rig and drop them into your new one
