      Anybody else like to confirm this?

        I drive past Bosch on the way home from work and regulary see camoflaged cars in the streets nearby. The other day I saw something that definetly was a mid-size 4WD wagon. It had car bras all over it so couldn't tell much. Wonder if it was a Prado...

          No way!!! We haven't seen the "Snowy" Prado, or "Kakadu" and finally the "10th Anniversary" edition. Tojo's marketing team will spend at least 2 years on the Prado run-out model.

            Prado refresh in September???

            I pick up my D4D GXL this Thursday and a guy I know is considering ordering one. The dealer that sold mine to me tells him to wait as a model refresh is "due in a month or so". :evil:

            Don't know any detail other than that but if that's the case I am a little annoyed as I have waited 4 1/2 months for this truck and he hasn't said a word to me.

              Its always a bit disappointing to pick up a new car and find the next one is about to be released. Its a bit hard to avoid with Toyota as they seem to "refresh" their models fairly regularly. And September has cropped up before. There was a significant change in September 04 when they went from the 4sp to 5sp auto; and then again in 06 when the D4D was released. And then last year the petrols and D4Ds got a few more gadgets. I'd think that the major changes have probably occurred in the 120 series, and would be surprised if this "refresh" is of any significance ... and we all have to wait for the next 205 (?) series :cry: .

                  I'd probably agree with you Bear. The common talk has been end of 09/early 10 for the Kluger/200 look-alike Prado so maybe they have a few things in mind like:

                  * LED lamps
                  * traction control as standard
                  * new wheels

                  There seems to be such a demand for the D4D 120 that it might seem crazy to change it now.

                    Maybe an LPG/ULP fuel version as standard considering the way fuel costs are heading might be on the cards. :lol:

                      There will always be improvements pending... but if you waited for the next best model you would never get a new car.

                      Sometimes it is nice to get the latest version, but then again, it is somewhat reassuring to have a model that has tried and tested features.

                      Whether or not a refresh is likely, we just want our new Prado to arrive!!!

                        I would have to ask how there would be a refresh in September if people have current orders to arrive in November :?:

                        I do suspect a new change in the body (complete refresh) soon as the current body is getting aged.

                        Doesn't bother me, mine is only two weeks old but I don't care to chase the latest and greatest all the time.My experience says you loose financially.....would be better off getting a lottery ticket.

                          There is already a number of threads on the refresh.

                          It is supposedly not due before Sept 2009 as it is a whole bodyshape change.
                          They cant even keep up on current orders.
                          So I it would make bad business practice to change the shape now when the old one is making squillions still?

                              The seats in the 120 are widely recognised as the best factory seats in any 4wd for sale in the market today by both critics and owners alike. I find them to be very comfortable and make driving long distances a joy. Sitting in the drivers seat of my vehicle is only second in comfort to my bed.

                                I agree with Bilvmac - the seats suk; the lack of lumbar support is a pain; literally. Fortunately, the platinum sheep shin covers form Super Cheap helped my wife and me with that - but we shouldn't have to rely on after market fixes for something as basic as the seat.

                                The seats in the Patrol are imo significantly better than the GXL. And really, the lack of height adjustment, no tilt or lumbar support ... poor form Toyota! Ours is 05; so of course its possible the seats have been improved ... A Refresh maybe :P
