According to the sales guy... they can't be removed. From memory the floor would still be the same height, it would just have the cavity where the seats would have gone (much like the Pajero I think)

That might be the case but I could see the caps covering some bolts so I would like to think that the entire fold down seats unit could be removed and perhpas replaced with some trimming to cover over the plastic ends that are no exposed to the right and left of where the door closes. Only time will tell I guess. Who will be the first to try

I'm seriously doubting the 150's ability to carry a family and their luggage
Snaga it's no different to the 120 series with rear air/curtain airbags.

          The European website

          http://techdoc.toyota-europe.com/Aim.aspx?menuitem=2

Has loads of instructions for pulling things in and out of the 150

Use the red button to select search and select model 150 etc. The PDf you are interested in for rear seat removel is the 'Towing hitch wiring kit' there are several there but a couple of them give instructions on how to remove the rear seats.

Meh. Rip all your CDs to mp3 format, copy them to a memory stick and shove that into your NG Prado's USB slot ... effectively a 600+ stacker CD player :P

Alternatively, plug your iPod in (I think the iPod connectivity kit is extra though?)

My point was OG prado had a six stacker why go back to a single? might as well go back to a cassette player like the poo trolls but keep the AUX in and usb slot i currently use ipod through AUX in plug in the front of OG GXL which works fine

                  Ipod compatability is std.

I don't ever use CDs any more. They always end up scratched or lost down the seats and the changers are more prone to damage especially offroad.

I find in my 120 with the 6 stacker that an MP3 CD tends to jump even on road. You will be part will through a track and then silence for upto about twenty seconds before it moves to the next track. I'm not sure if it's the burn (I always burn slowly) or the unit is crap. I assume the current unit has a buffer and when that empties if moves onto the next.

The gaps seemed bigger than the 120's but I haven't seen the 120 barrier for a while.

AUX and USB ports were both on the centre console on the GXL

It is going to result in some interesting storage system design challenges. If you take the third row seats out you wil l want to use that space for storage, but how to get to it with a drawer system sitting on top ?

Actually it might be a good place for a water tank or bladder, with a hand or electric pump to draw out the water.
                          Cheers, Wayne

This morning I took the family to the main Shopping Centre in Darwin. When we returned to our car, we found a new 150 series Prado had parked beside us. It was dark grey in colour and looked nice (as every new car does), but we still reckon the 120 series looks better overall - especially the front end look.

Interesting article here on the new European Hilux just been released.

                              http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2009/12...%28CARSCOOP%29

Looks like they are going the same path as Nissan and Mitsubishi offering 2.5 Diesel .

Wonder what this means for Aussie market ? Sounds like a good motor for the Rav4 or Kluger ?
Bring on a V6Tdi for the Prado !

HI, Go to dick smith, grab a 8 gig usb mem stick and fill it up, will hold 1000's of songs and plug it in, never jumps, never gets scratched, and just unplug, or, as I am going to do, pop it on your key/remote entry fob, when you hop out of the car, flash drive comes with you, and you know where your fob is at all times.

I tried mine in a demo VX on sunday, plug in, turn on stereo, hit aux twice and it brings up a basic menu, the "file" up and down rolls you through the different albums on the stick, the track selector takes you through the track list of the file (album), all the random and seek etc work just like a CD, however, no track name ar file names came up on the display, but aybe that was the format I had on the usb stick, dont know, but I do know it beats the hell out of a console full of CD's.

And after all that I ordered a VX with 6 disc.
