Also mention this is not just a upgrade ,it is a complete new model Prado.

Depends where you draw the line.... if the info so far turns out to be true (Carry over engines, gearbox, transfer, major suspension and chassis) then I say it's an upgrade.... a new body, interior and minor tweaks ain't all new, it's just changing the wrapping...

I'll probably do the same. The only shame I can think of is I have the older TD and not the more powerful D4D but then I don't have injector problems either.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but the Sydney Daily Telegraph claims in their carsguide section that Toyota plan to release a 3 door model Prado in Oz in the second half of this year.

This is some extra detail on some questions I had about the the earlier spec post. These are the answers from my fleet dealer.

The way I read it - all models will have the 150l fuel tanks.

Level 3 (vx or equiv) gets (of a safety nature):
HID headlights
Rain sensing wipers
Dusk sensing headlamps
Auto headlamp leveling

Level 4 (grande or equiv) gets:
TEMS (rear air suspension)
Auto Leveler (rear air suspension)

Then as an option pack on the Grande, (Advanced Safety)
"Advanced cruise control & advanced active safety. Front Seat belt (advanced active safety) 3 camera system, minus electronic diff lock, minus off-road speed select + off-road guide, minus 4 camera system"

Not confirmed – but, yes – reckon they will be known as “150” series – on the pre-spec info we have they have been given designations of KDJ150R for Turbo and GRJ150R for Petrol variants

this is from my Toyota rep when I asked the question.

The 100 Landcruiser came out and then the 120 Prado, now the 200 landcruiser so why not the 220 Prado? Not that that will make any sence what so ever with Toyotas number system

This is just a little tid bit of news about the upcoming new Prado launnch. My 4WD club was approached by an events co-ordintor for help with venues and tracks to launch the new Prado on out here in Alice, however the club responded too late and now they have decided to use a NSW venue to launch the new Prado. No dates were given.
