  • Has anyone taken the 150 Prado on a Cape York trip Yet??

I am planning on doing a 21 Day tag-along tour in my new 2010 150 TD Prado next September & am keen to hear anyone who may have already completed the trip in a 150 so I can better prepare for the trip?

I think there have been a few. Have a search on "Cape York" and you will see some in the more recernt posts. A few issues back Roothy took some tool from TJM up there in a 150 as well. The car made it through all right but the TJM fella truely had no idea when you listen to him.

      Hi Micko81
Looks like you have got a good list of accessories already on board the 150 Mate.
Uhf radio would be essential for this trip. Communication with other road users, road crews and your Tag Along group will make the trip safer and more enjoyable. We also purchased a MSA water crossing bra and this was quickly fitted prior to most creek crossings. My nephew lent me a Bush-ranger rear wheel bin/bag, and this was good for carrying the trash and the water bra between crossings.
      Cheers Troy

Derek from Sidewinder went to the Tip early this year in a 150, also has some good pics of the trip as well.

              Hi
we were up there for a few weeks in June. Car went fantastic. You pick up a front wheel alot of the time but the traction control works very well to stop it spinning. Looking at your list looks like you have it covered. I would say you have changed tyres as well?? Maybe a roof rack to take extra gear, like an extra spare tyre. 17 inch aren't easy to get everywhere yet. Don't forget to take some spare parts too.
Let me know if you need anything else.
