Traction COntrol on Prado VX

I have a new PRADO VX. Twice I have been going around a corner a little bit hard and it has felt and sounded like one wheel has locked up. My dealer says it was probably the traction control kicking in. I was not looking at the gauges so I do not know if any indicators came on but I would be a bit surprised if traction control was that sensitive. Has anyone else had examples of premature traction control? Does the dealers expalanation sound plausible?

If the traction control does kick in, doesn't it beep and indicate on the dash? Or is that swerve control?

Traction control is the system that keeps you going in a wheel slip situation ( mud, steep gravel hills etc )

Stability control is the system that keeps you car stable in skids, swerves etc.

More likely to be stability control - my 120 does it in the situation you describe.

I know what they do, I'm just not sure what the indicator and annoying beeping is =p I'm assuming its swerve control though.

In the 120 you only get the beeps when stability control activates. ( nothing on traction control )
May be different in the 150. The manual doesn't say ?

Yep, my Gx has done this a couple of times as well,but only on one particular corner. Frightened the daylights out of me the first time, so much so that I nearly ran off the road.

I've got a VX and have had this happen to me. The first time it happened i thought i'd broken my beautiful new car, what with all the beeping and shuddering. Evidently the car is very tempermental about keeping all four of its wheels touching the road.
