Colour not overly important to me either. Would colour affect see-through-ability? Perhaps black would be slightly less reflective? Satin black would be fine.

The "see-through-ability" was better when it was black uncoated steel. The light grey color is a bit distracting in the rear view mirror and makes the mesh look "fatter" I can understand why women like black dresses.

I have enough interest to do a batch. It will take 2-3 weeks depending on how busy the powder coaters are. I will do them all in Satin black.

Yes, I too was wondering how you plan to lock us in? I personally don't think you'll have much selling them if you make 20 or more... How many definites have you got?

I'm pretty sure I'll be able to move the first batch of 10 so am happy to proceed without deposits. It will be less work and easier to track if I just take payment when they are ready. Laser parts have been ordered as well as nuts and bolts. Laser cutters have a bit of a backlog at the moment so it will be about 2 weeks before I can get them to the powder coaters.

I've been looking into shipping options and may have found a cheaper alternative to Aus post. EGO have quoted me about $20 to ship from Brisbane to Perth. Its alot better than the $60 to $80 Aus post are going to charge.

Update

Back from the laser cutting. Off to the powder coaters.

I'll be having a quick look at a 120 on the weekend too. They don't live too far away from me so hopefully I'll have one for a 120 soon too.
