Awsome news guys! I did read the wright up in the latest Overlander Magazine with regards to Mannels Kakadu and was very interested to find out more info. It cost me $1000 for the rear airbags when I upgraded the suspension in the GRANDE! And that was just the Airbags!... I can think of other toys I could buy with that extra Grand? LOL

      Hi All,
We fitted our bags to MadMick's Kakadu yesterday, and having see the standard bags will Billies I can see why the look OK, however these shocks are a fair bit shorter than some others so the bags may have an immediate problem. The other thing to remember with airbags is that they will get shorter as they get older, so whilst the OE bags may be OK now, they will fail a lot earlier then normal. We have seen this early failure on standard 120's that do a lot of towing, they age quicker due to sustained higher pressures, and go off with a

      sized bang!

        Howdy,
just a quick update on the bags.
Travelling back home from Brissy to Yackandandah (Vic) with 1400kg offroad camper in tow I can tell one and all these things are the proverbial ducks nuts.
The car sits better, handles better and feels absolutely superb in the arse end. Even with the Bilsteins the trailer could pitch and pull it around at times but now it is simply sensational.
The ride that Brett and the guys at Airbagman have provided is without a doubt smoother than the OE bags, and i would put the car up against anyone that didn't agree after having them fitted.
Definately worth the effort and i can't wait to get out in the forest and stretch them a bit!

Are they Bags only like the OE bags or do they have a thin spring around them?

No springs needed, bags only, although they are a better quality than the OE stuff. Riding on air could probably give you more info on them. But I can tell you they are more comfortable than the factory ones even though they are stronger.
Best money I spent on the car so far, without a doubt!

Do they self level etc as the OE ones did ? or is it a case of manually adding air when towing? It would be great if they connected to the compressor and self levelled but also could individually be pumped up so I could level out my KDSS lean...

It all works as per factory mate. They are all in line with the factory compressor and operate as per Toyota bags. I have no lean what so ever.

Just fitted up the new Dick Cepek Torques with the MTZ's and it looks the goods. I spent months measuring, spacing and calculating this set up and new exactly where any problems were going to occur. Complete success thank christ. Took it in the forest yesterday and twisted it all over the place and they do not touch or rub anywhere.
I'll put up some photos when it stops raining long enough to wash it! Bit of a drop when you step out now too, i'll add the new measurements soon.

With the lift and the bags it now sits at 810 front (both sides) and 870 rear (both sides).
With the MTZ's on I also have a touch over 300ml clearance underneath both the front crossmember and rear diff.
Doesn't look like much in the photos, but boy when ya park next to a standard Prado- Huge difference!

Sounds Awesome.... Where's the photos of the new wheels?????hangin out to see them. Mine is sitting at 810mm front and the brown Davis bash plate gave slightly better clearance again and neatened all the underneath up.
Got the Pictures thanks Mick looks spot on.
