  • Bilstein/King Measurements

Just wondering if anyone who has a bilstein/king (HD front and medium plus bags in rear) combo in a 150 D4D could provide me some measurements?

I have had mine in for about 1000kms now and need to get a second wheel alignment done. Out of curiosity I measured the heights again to check how much the springs had settled and noticed that the front drivers side was 6mm higher (811mm bottom of rim to guard) than the front passenger side (805mm). When the springs were installed the vehicle was dead level at 820mm both sides.

I do have an ARB bar (no winch yet) and second battery in the engine bay that weighs roughly the same as the OEM main one, so I thought that weights across the front would be similar. I had a quick look around the front end and everything seems to be in order install wise.

Is a 6mm variation normal or should I investigate further before getting the second alignment?

    Hi Russell.
I did a bit of digging after emailing you & found some Hub to Guard measurements on a 150 with KTFR-101HD front springs that we had done in-house at our old Penrith Workshop.
It was 575mm From the centre of the centre cap on the front wheel to the guard.

I have spoken to Kings today and they have not come across the concern with different ride heights left to right either as yet.

As a side note, all Holden Commodore Springs sit the vehicle 10mm higher on the drivers side so that they sit level with a driver on board.

    Regards, Jason.

Cheers Jason, I will check the measurement.

I'm not too worried at the moment and will probably just get the second alignment done and monitor it over the next 500kms or so.
