slipperyskakadu, can you update your recent status with the airbag man replacement bags? Are they good now? Or stay away from them?

I just received my Bilsteins and Dobinsons coils to go in my 2010 Kakadu. Yet to go in. Will be throwing in AirBag Man 2” lift kit bags soon. I had a question though, there are 3 different heights the spring seat can sit on. Currently on the lowest one from the bottom of the shock. What have people got there’s set on?

I have just installed the replacement bag. It all seems ok. I dont get my caravan back until Monday and then I will give it a test n see what happens.

    Definitely not a install issue.
Defective item, I've sent it back to them for them to look at.

    Keep u posted.

This kit has been around for quite some time, It would be great if you could let us know why and if it was an manufacturing, design or install issue.

We have had ours in for 8 months. I hope they will last, we gave them a fair workout in the HC over Xmass all went well

I will admit we had some leveling issues early on that I was trying to resolve at the start airbag man were very helpful as it went on they stop returning calls very poor form but I ended up fixing it myself no thanks to them

If ours did fail, I would probably look at the AMTS coil

Whilst I have have to date not had one issue running the Airbagman OA6011’s I my 120 Grande, I took the opportunity to install amts’ Spring Conversion when I recently replaced my suspension with Whitey’s Custom valves Ironman Foamcell Pro’s. the main reason for replacing was for reliability with a planned trip to the Red Centre later this year and I didn’t want to be stuck out in the Simmo having to limp home on Bump stops (very bad....)
I initially wanted to go for the softer 120ABMD’s, however these were unavailable ( no stock) so upon further advice I went the heavier duty 120ABHD spring. These are a direct replacement solution as Andrew has stated. I did have a conversation with Andrew about the necessity of installing the conical bump stops in the top of the spring which Andrew stated was not necessary, however my preference was to source a set to minimise any potential metal on metal contact of the spring against the top hat along with minimising any potential squeaking. This was a bit of a pain to install as the internal diameter of amts coils are slightly less than a standard GXL coil resulting in the need to shave off a few mm from around the top of the bumpstop for it to sit inside the new coil. These were also cut down to act as spacers for the Firestone Airbags installed inside the coils for times that I may be carrying extra loads ( towing etc...) Apart from that it was a very simple install. I have left all the height control linkages etc in place for the time being but may remove them in the future. 2 Height control fuses needed to be pulled. One from the fuse box under the bonnet labelled AIR SUS 50A and the other from inside the cabin labelled TEMS. I have also replaced the Grande bumpstops that are bolted to the chassis that touch base with the diff with the shorter GXL jobbies to provide a little more articulation before these come into play.
The resulting ride whilst quite firm in the rear but handling is awesome thanks to Whitey’s solution. Without amts spring conversion, i’d Never of been able to achieve the articulation that I had always craved as the Airbags always restricted this.
Long winded response but I hope this helps slippery.

Depends on which type of airbag.
Helper airbags can't do self levelling. They fit inside a coil.
Coil replacement airbags can do self levelling.

Rear airbags have to be airbag mans or trick std bag sensors.
Pick any Shocks n Struts you like...
    And your done !

    That Easy....

Bleeding the KDSS just requires level ground. Half hour little bit off jumping and tighten screw up.

    Lol there's ya Sticky !!

Can you advise why rear airbags have o be Airbag mans? Does this retain the auto leveling feature of rear sus. Been quoted Polyair bags long travel, but you loose auto leveling (manual only as needed.
