Gvm upgrade on kakadu

Hi guys

I need to upgrade the gvm and towing capacity on my prado 150 kakadu

Can anyone please advise on this

As the GCM can't be upgraded, you can't upgrade both the tow capacity and GVM together.

Well this makes my prado useless

With a few minor mods I'm over gvm with it no cargo just my wife and son in the car,

It only has bash plates bull bar sliders and dual batteries

Pretty disappointed in toyota here

Whats the weight of the accessories?

What is the weight now with the mods, full tank of fuel and no occupants?

With an empty tank of fuel under 1/4 with the 3 of us I it was at 2880

So add 100l fuel in it and we're over, I really didn't think adding dual batteries and bull bar and sidesteps were that many mods,

So most prados must be over the gvm

So your saying that your accessories and occupants weigh close to 555kg (gxl)? Doesn't sound quite right too me.

3 occupants adults average weight = 250ish kg

Rest of accessories = 305kg?

Typical steel bar weighs roughly 50kg, dual battery probably 30kg, 80l fridge = 30kg, cargo barrier = 17kg, side steps unknown

So that leaves the side steps and bash plates to weigh in at around 178kg ????????

We weighed our VX last year with... bullbar, dual battery, Rhino platform, awning, 95l fridge. I took rear seat out and pit in false floor which is less than weight of seats. All up with not much else in the car 2900kg.
Full tank would have put us right on GVM so yes a lot of Prados on the road loaded with gear would be overloaded

The Kakadu's kerb weight is 2445kg. Not much to add to reach GVM.

I know you have said you won't post the price for the upgrade but here in SA I have been quoted $2-2500. So my question is - is this similar better or worse?

No I paid less than half that, but remember there were no mods included in my job as the lift kit was already installed. It was just consultation time and testing.
