I'm doing the fronts at the moment using the AMTS method as I don't have spring compressors.

A question about the wheel alignment, will a tyre shop alignment do the job ? Pedders always spin me some crap about they are the only ones who do an IFS wheel alignment properly. They cost twice as much, which I don't mind paying as long as it's worth it. What do you guys think ?

    Thanks !
    Hey,

Is yours a GXL? If it is, then yep I want those coils!! ...if it is a GXL, could you tell me the colour codes on them, should be same both sides??

The KDSS coils off the V6 Kakadu are different lengths (and perhaps different rates), so they're not the best for making the comparison between diesel and petrol coils.

Pedders don't do any better job of wheel aligning than anybody else!

Give Platinum Automotives in Cockburn a call, great mechanics who know the Prado well, and they'll put you on the straight and narrow with a wheel alignment shop!

    Lemme know about those coils!

      Yep, 150 V6 GXL 2014 facelift.
The coil I have off at the moment has two 'pinkish' paint marks on it.

The suspension height is as a result of the above combo?

Is that with any weight in the rear?

                Mine sits at 840mm empty.

just with a 40L Engel, which doesn't weigh much. I'll measure again on a perfectly flat surface, as both places I've measured on so far have given different results.

                      Hey,

I only got 810mm at the rear of my 120 with 327 coils, with a false floor, fridge slide + engel, and secondary battery.

OK, done all the reading, big thanks to the suspension gurus, now I'm ready to order.

From what I've understood of the theory I'm going to order the follwoing bits:

Front: Bilstein 24-173032 with Dobinson C59-352
Rear: Bilstein 24-238830 with Dobinson C59-327

                        I have a Smartbar with winch and a dual battery setup(approx 100kg front) .
Drawers, fridge slide and towing a camper trailer(approx 300kg rear).

Appreciate any feedback on this if I'm off the mark, or anyone whose doing something similar.

                        Cheers

                          Hey,

Good on the front, just change that rear 24-238830 to a 24-217897. I'd look at airbags for the rear as well!

Change the front strut to 24-173032-1 15mm longer than the 24-173032
Buy the kit from me & you get 4 grooves on the struts
                            Cheers

                              Hey Tourer777,

Zordo is spot on, I forgot the -1, the front strut you want is the 24-173032-1 which will be 570mm open length. Give Zordo a call, he'll sort you out!

                              If you haven't already, you can find some more details on the Bilsteins here;
