Buy the kit from me & you get 4 grooves on the struts

Has anyone actually done a GVM upgrade?
I was of the understanding that we have 500kg to play with which quickly gets used up with 2nd battery, bull bar, UVP, full tank of fuel, boat attached, passengers etc but I never see many comments on PP about having that done. I believe the struts/ springs are the same as what Zordo sells just with an engineer's approval.
I plan on upgrading soon and the GVM U/G is twice the cost what Zordo sells his kit for so with the above extras is it really necessary...?

The new law also allows you to pay for the official GVM upgrade with whoever sells it and certifies it, then once you have the plate on the Prado with the official GVM upgrade suspension on it, you can put in whatever after market suspension you want as long as the valving, coil rates and load carrying capacity of the coils are the same as the original GVM upgrade suspension.

This of course means getting struts and shocks dyno tested to check the valving matches, but this isn't too expensive.

It was passed onto me by a Queensland suspension engineer, I'll check with him if it is federal.

It's only legal to change if you have the GVM upgrade plate on already.

Zordo is spot on, I forgot the -1, the front strut you want is the 24-173032-1 which will be 570mm open length.

From the Suspension Database

Bilstein     24-173032   570    150    420 #(150/FJ)

Looks like there is an error somewhere. If the 24-173032-1 version is 570mm and longer by 15mm than the 24-173032 then shouldn't the 24-173032 be 555mm? Or if the 24-173032 is actually 570mm then wouldn't the 24-173032-1 be 585mm?

The 487's are going good!

I should give them a measure, they've been in for a while now, and we have the rear drawers in, so they should have settled down a bit by now.

Do we know when the front upper arms are going to be available? Pradopoint group buy possible?

Definitely a group buy on the cards!

Just gotta yak with the Fulcrum folk, didn't get a chance today as a little old lady decided to remodel my rear quarter panel with her XC60, and I didn't have my Prado the last 2 days!
