    Re: Lift Kit

I just had the suspension changed at ARB St Peters. Replacing the springs and shocks have raised the car 80mm!!! Not 40-50 like I expected but 80!!! I hope this isn't a problem from a rego/insurance perspective.

I had exactly the same issue, they had put heavy duty springs in the back even though I had requested medium, I don't have a draw set, don't tow a heavy load and don't have the back of the car loaded up. They swapped them out and it is back down to just over 50mm.

Just be careful that your 80mm lift does not impact your CV angles.

What springs did they put in, i have heard of 80mm in older cars as they have sagged but in a new car?? is it rough.

They assured me they were the "medium rate" constant 200kg spring. Part No.2887 Front and No. 2898 Rear. The ride is very good and the handling has improved a bit too. I'm just a bit concerned about the long term issues with CV joints. Plus I guess Iam just not happy when you get something you didn't ask for. Their accounting was very poor too. Both times I have been there they have charged me the wrong amount and taken forever to fix it!!

Medium is still heavy without any accessories, I have the light front and rear with bullbar, battery etc. The warranty docket they gave u if it is showing 80mm I would question it at the 500 klm check. Alternatively if u r planning to add a bit of gear it will come down quickly.

I was told the 'heavy' springs they wrongly installed on mine that gave the 80mm lift were 200kg (I was after medium & 50mm). I will check the invoice and let you know what my part numbers were. My insurance company weren't keen on anything above 50mm, & specifically asked me how high I had gone.

Those two part numbers look like the heaviest springs.

                      Re: Lift Kit

I have a quote from ARB which lists the front springs as part no. 2885 and then it says this is specifically for a vehicle without bullbar. If the vehicle has a bullbar then use part no. 2887, if the vehicle has bullbar and winch then use 2888. ARB have confirmed that 2888 is the heaviest duty coil available for the front.

THey have listed part no. 2889 for the rear springs which is supposed to be 200kg constant load which is the middle spring rate they offer. The heavier one is 400kg constant load.

I head back for the 500km check next Wednesday and I have already spoken to them about it. They are checking it out for me but agree 80 is too high. It'll be interesting to see what they do. Heading off to Central Aust on the 9th so already starting to run out of time!!
The part numbers seem right. Heavy in the front (steel bull bar, winch and dual batteries), medium in the rear (home made drawer system and some towing).

It appears they fitted the springs for the diesel rather than petrol. Getting them swapped out next week.
