Fitted Lift Kit

I plan to have my lift kit done next week followed by the new BFG 275/65 R17 AT's @ $318.00ea

I have had numerous quotes and am yet to decide the final installer.

Supplier No 1: King springs, Bilstein Shocks, Poly airs, Fitting and alignment $1645.00 (40mm Lift - can't won't do a 50mm ?)

Supplier No 2: Pedders 2" lift including Pedders springs, shocks, poly bags and alignment $1725.22

Supplier No 3: King springs, Bilstein Shocks, Poly airs, Fitting and alignment $2350.00 (50mm Lift)

Any advice ? I looked at OME and was advised the King spring and Bilstein combo is better. Why does the one supplier refuse to do a 50mm lift ?

Lift kit and tyres now fitted

Very happy with the price and final result.













Tyre size 275/65R17 still fits under the hard cover

The data:

Front: 885mm -> 945mm = 60mm
Rear: 902mm -> 990mm = 88mm
Diff Centre: 226mm -> 247mm

King Springs RR
Bilstein Socks
Polyair Bags (2 bar)
BFG AT 275/65 R17
Fuel +-90L

I think it should settle well after winch and drawer system is fitted.

That thing looks nice!!!!

seems a bit nose heavy. Were the springs and shocks model numbers the same used for 120 lifts?

Yes same kit as the 120 Prado.

It will settle, the Polybags have 2 Bar which is lifting the back a bit and once the tanks are full, fridge and drawers fitted it should be good.

I will take it for a run this weekend with a bit of a load and lower the pressure in the polybags so they are not lifting the car.

Hmmm, I'm starting to think that my first impression may be wearing off and the modified 150 is really starting to grow on me.... A LOT!
Looking very good there ABR, and I'm looking forward to seeing some bar work on it now.

Could be time for you to start up our first 150 Series Rig Build-Up thread 8)

I had a play with photoshop, kept the roof line level.

The 120 & 150 Prado are very close in size, shape etc.

Nice! On a minor detail of your cool rig...is the hitch a factory option or did you have it installed? Here in Riyadh the dealer as of yet doesn't have a hitch option for the VX-L available yet. Ideas on how I might be able to add one would be much appreciated!

I've just ordered a VX D4D and plan to lift it straight away.

It was fitted the day I collected the car. It is a Toyota option with Toyota tag.

KTFR-101 and KTRR-102 with poly bags. Clips should be in top groove as bar and winch still coming, I did not see the fitting but based on the height and ride I would say they are.

ABR - SIDEWINDER - Thanks - I just wish the dealer here in Riyadh was as convenient. The Prados here are sold the way they arrive and so far they offer no accessories for 2010 :cry:

It is loaded now with drawers, fridge, 3 chairs, table, milford barrier, shelf, compressor and odd recovery bits.

Rear: 965mm
Front: 950mm
