Petrol vs diesel

Evening all. I vaguely remember someone once saying that the front suspension on the petrol and diesel have different part numbers (because the diesel engine is heavier). Can anyone confirm this? And does anyone have the part numbers for either? Mine is a 2010 petrol with 200k on it and I have brand new set of stock suspension in the shed that I want to put on, but just want to make sure it is right.

I can’t help you with the part numbers, but the springs at least are different due to the weight difference, the v6 being considerably lighter.

Putting diesel springs in a petrol will have the vehicle sitting much higher with a rougher ride than with the correct v6 springs.. Ask me how I know........

If they were springs for a diesel you could compenate with a bullbar, if you didn't have one .

There is a part number on the new strut, but it doesn't match the pn on toyo-diy for my car (actually it doesn't appear at all on toyo-diy) - 48510-60221.

Actually I do have a polybar on this one, and the weight difference between petrol and diesel is 80kg (I assume most of this will be the engine, but I know the diesel has other heavier bits too, like the windscreen). So I the diesel springs must be a fair bit heavier than the petrol. I'll put them on and see how the car sits.

I have a steel arb bar on my v6, and it sat 30mm higher than desired (gave 85mm lift) at the front with the diesel spec springs...

OK, thanks. I'm not going to bother then. I had a quick look and they do not have the same pn as the struts on my car, so likely diesel suspension.

Is there anything wrong with the existing springs? If not, just swap the front shocks and retain the current springs. Unless the front shocks are TEMS?
