All the prices I got for the Polyairs were $290.00 or thereabouts plus fitting, I'll post some pictures next week after the fitting.

Sorry to hijack but I keen to see your lift Richo, also have you had your black widow draws installed yet?

I went the polyairs as these are what I have always run with no issues. They were all I was going to use for the time being but a tripnto Mt Mee and some bent guards changed that... Now I have to buy some spacers for when my lift goes in.

      Hi Daniel

Drawers, OME and airbags go in on the 6th August all in one hit, ARB Coopers Plains had a 150 GXL completed last week when I dropped in with all this and a Black Widow cargo barrier as well so I could see the finished product and it all looked well done. The owner also had the original GXL mags electrostatically coated black, I think they looked great but others didn't like em.

      Regards, Richo.

          Re: Firestone vs Polyair Bags?

Ok so I've decided on getting the Coil-Rite (Firestone) bags.

I have sent Truck Springs an email requesting the right kit for the standard height Prado as well as the delivered cost. Has anyone had a definite answer yet on which to order?

If that fails, I'll just order some direct from the airbag man for $295.00.

My Toyota Service Manager has been kind enough to agree to install them for me when they are replacing an interior trim that they damaged fitting the cargo barrier. For $150 at least I'll know the warranty situation will be all good. If I had the tools, I probably would have had a go myself but by the time I buy jack stands and a trolley jack for the diff it'll work out cheaper to have Toyota do it.

          Cheers, Sam.

            Firestone vs Polyair Bags?

Hmmm, got a reply from Truck Springs. Not all that confidence inspiring.

            "Sam,

We are not familiar with the Prado in North American and cannot say for certain which product would fit. It is not listed in our application guides."

I'm a little hesitant to order from America if I'm not 100% sure they'll fit.

The standard height Prado uses kit 4135 with the 6024 bags which are 4.75" Diameter and 7.5" long. The pipes are all the same in the kits .You need to cut the rubber cones in the springs shorter to fit the bags . You can fit them without taking the springs out but I took them out to drill the hole at the top of the spring seat bigger (where the pipe goes through ) .http://www.truckspring.com/installation ... 444324.pdf

The GX470 has self leveling rear, air suspension, same as the 120 Grande. No coils.

                    Hi Folks

I have to ask the question, to save $100.00 or so dollars why would you purchase from the US and have warranty issues and do the install yourself?

                    Regards, Richo.

I can get the kit posted over for about $140 and fit them for free. ARB quted $550 to supply and fit.

Yep, decided warranty and local support was worth the extra $150.

Ordered a set of Firestone Coil-Rite bags from my local Air Bag Man distributer today.

Will post some pics after Toyota installs them for me.

Just have to decide where to fit the valves. Any suggestions?

                        Cheers, Sam.

                            Howdy Sam,

I had a set of Firestones on my 100 series and reckon they were great. The TJM store in Darwin who installed them said they had a better valve system than the Poly bags - don't know whether this is true or not but we towed our Tambo through the Kimberleys, GRR etc with no dramas from them at all. I'm getting the Firestones again for the 150.

                            Cheers

Mine are in today, the salesperson at ARB Coopers Plains (Adam) made sure that the valves were installed in a safe place as he told the installer "this Prado is used as a 4WD", I will post some pics tomorrow (off to Nth Stradbroke Island).
